I spent part of yesterday morning toying with the idea of a merger between the 2 leagues, having no idea of today’s announcement. Anyway I’m very excited and I thought 12 games with 12 teams playing each other once with a week 12 play in I.e. 1-12 2-11 3-10 ect. I’m still stunned 😳 and I also thought about an NFL Draft after the season in June, with 3 rounds with 100 total picks for all 32 teams. The last 4 picks go to the 4 teams who played in their conference championship games. The draft picks in round 1 get a 1 million $ bonus, rounds 2-3 get 500k to 250k respectively and would make a new NFL 55 man roster with a guaranteed 5 games with new teams. The early summer draft would be the NFL Dream Draft and it would seriously motivate the players to shine bright enough for the opportunity and the bonus money that’s paid by the NFL ( 32 million 16 million and 8 million which is an NFL drop in the bucket. Plus the guaranteed 5 game roster spot will not hurt anyone on the 53 man current rosters. Many of these USFL/ XFL players have never been a million dollar 💵 player, so along with the NFL opportunity, the reasonable chance to stay with the NFL team and have their contract extended for the whole season would be huge.
    Everyone else is a FA.
