The Massachusetts Pirates have recently added significantly to their roster, signing quarterback Dion (DJ) Golatt Jr. for the upcoming 2024 season. Standing tall at 6’3″ and weighing in at 225 pounds, Golatt Jr. brings a unique blend of skills and athleticism to the team, promising an exciting season ahead for Pirates fans.


Golatt Jr. arrives at the Pirates’ camp with valuable experience, having recently participated in rookie minicamps with NFL teams, including the Washington Commanders and the Baltimore Ravens. These opportunities have exposed him to the professional football scene and allowed him to hone his skills further and prepare for the challenges ahead.


During his collegiate career at Bowie State University in Maryland, Golatt Jr. left a lasting impression as an All-Central Intercollegiate Athletic Conference First-Team performer in 2022. As a graduate student at Bowie State, he displayed impressive passing skills, completing 61 percent of his throws for 2,649 yards, 18 touchdowns, and eight interceptions.


Beyond his statistics, Golatt Jr. is known for his leadership on and off the field. His work ethic, coupled with his natural talent, has earned him respect among teammates and coaches alike. His ability to read defenses, make quick decisions under pressure, and deliver accurate passes make him a formidable presence in the quarterback position.


Originally from Largo, MD, Golatt Jr. has a history of success on and off the field. His achievements in high school football earned him numerous accolades, and he continued to excel in college, gaining recognition as the MEAC Rookie of the Week, among other honors.


Off the field, Golatt Jr. is known for his dedication to community service and his passion for music and coaching. He is actively mentoring youth and giving back to his community, demonstrating his commitment to making a positive impact beyond the gridiron.


With his strong work ethic, determination, and natural talent, Golatt Jr. is poised to make a significant impact for the Massachusetts Pirates in the upcoming IFL season.
