Mark,
A few points…
You have it backwards – XFL should never have relaunched – they should have bought into USFL which was already in existence.
DG is totally the WRONG spokes person for a man’s sports, sorry if that offends some but they need an OLuck. Who takes DG seriously? Name one men’s league with a woman as leader? Brandon is a wet blanket, he’s not much better.
Need a charismatic and knowledgeable leader that can garner TV and media/press attention.
I said from day one the small and low income cities of Memphis (.52%) and Birm (.62%) were a mistake. XFL2020 went into the biggest TV markets to get TV viewers – 2020 teams comprised 22% of the USA TV market.
The UFL comprises 11.3%. Is it any wonder XFl2020 numbers are 2x UFL 2025?
UFL schedule awareness is a big issue. There is a major issue in finding when & where weekly broadcast are on TV. ABC is a common channel for viewers to find. But Fox and ESPN are less so.
Didn’t seem to have this issue last year but why is the UFL 2025 hiding their weekly TV schedule? The switch from ESPN2 to ESPN for STL v Memphis was not well communicated, because it wasn’t communicated at all by the league.
Tell me where you see the schedule with tv easily? How do you know who’s playing – last yr it was all over – not so this yr and if diehards can’t find it – that isn’t good.
The UFL main page should list the 4 weekly games date/time and network starting no later than Monday nights.
Their Facebook and “X” etc social media pages should be blasting the weekly schedule and be either pinned or the graphic on the top page.
FOX One is intended to capture people w/o cable/broadcast easily. ESPN (new streaming) is very similar strategy.
ESPN (streaming) as well as FOX One will allow login using your cable subscription. MAX uses this – I have HBO on cable, I get MAX for free.
Strike talk, CBA delay, QB’s holding out. Slow week 1. UFA ambush attempt on Rock week 1. Rock MIA. Weak DG/Brandon. Needed that juice you mention. Need to make it easier to see where/when playing. Time will tell. PAT structure is too hard USFL’s was better. K/O stinks USFL had that better too. XFL 1 foot inbounds helped offense – bring that back.
Lets face it UFL is run on a squeaky tight budget. Perhaps this was the year to see what base line is w/o any Rock. It sounds like Rock is an expense, not an asset (investor)
All that said – I love the FB. I enjoy the broadcasts. And I want spring FB to make it. Thoughts?

Totally agree! I AM a die hard. I have had a VERY HARD time compared to the last few years finding games this year as well. Not so in the past.
The play (until this weekend) was not as exciting either. Suggestions;
1) Keep all current cities next year.
2) Keep current footprint for Fri nights, 3 Games Saturday and 1 Sunday next year. I think keeping this footprint the same will work. Have a bi-week (with half pay and travel to the actual city that week for promotions etc.)
3) I miss “Player 53”. A similar show and coaches shows filmed in Arlington but geared for each city, would help.
4) Integrate former USFL players ( Bobby Hebert comes to mind) into the league as broadcasters etc.

Expansion talk was ill advised with the state of attendance throughout the league.

Mark,
I share everyone’s frustration with the league, how it is marketed and the fact that some places were simply unfortunate choices to put a team. I wonder if there was ever a study, survey or question asked concerning the league scheduling. I’m certainly no marketing genius but I keep wondering if it’s in the best interest of the league to schedule the bulk of games on Saturday and Sunday during the day I assume, because the NFL and Collegiate games are scheduled during those times and I suppose the thought is that fans are used to those times so why change?
Well, it’s Spring and not Fall or Winter so the thought should be geared towards what are people doing during the day when it’s nice out? Obviously, in Memphis and Birmingham, Houston and Arlington they’re doing other things besides going to UFL games. Why? There are certainly people in those places who enjoy a good football game. Maybe the UFL would be more successful scheduling their games earlier in the year like has been mentioned many times starting a week or two after the Superbowl. This would get them in peoples living rooms while they are starting to miss their weekend games and the UFL has less competition on television and in the respective cities where the teams are playing. Baseball hasn’t started, hockey is winding down and MLS is hiding on Apple TV.
The Friday games were a great idea but then they let someone with no knowledge of marketing or maybe anything at all schedule them. First game, St. Louis at Houston? Really? At Houston for the initial Friday Night Game?!? This was going to introduce the public to the UFL and they put it in a nearly empty stadium and had a predictable semi-blowout. Wasn’t a great look.
Maybe the league could schedule games on Friday and Sunday evenings along with Saturday and Sunday games
in more traditional time slots. Or at least something similar once the season gets into the later weeks when baseball and outside activities are going strong.
My last thought would be, like many others is move Houston, Memphis and Birmingham somewhere that they believe fans will respond favorably too. Seattle, Orlando, New Jersey and Columbus all come to mind.
Just weighing in. Thanks for the forum to do so.
