The Battlehawks return 2 players from their 2024 group, along with One new face that will be fighting for an opportunity to learn from Head Coach Anthony Becht. The Battlehawks who for the past Two seasons have under utilized the position hope to unlock a new level of production from the room in 2025.

Tight Ends:  Chase Allen (3rd yr, 1st yr STL), Jake Sutherland (5th yr, 3rd yr STL), Kemari Averett (2nd yr, 2nd yr STL)

The Battlehawks carried Two Tight Ends in 2024, after seeing Charlie Taumoepenu, Jaylen Smith, Jordan Thomas, Jevoni Robinson, and Jovani Hoskins all spend time with the team in 2023.

Jake Sutherland has been the Battlehawks go to TE, expanding his role this past season. While Kemari Averett should be able to add some much needed athleticism to this room, many Battlehawks fans should be excited for newly signed Tight End Chase Allen.

The Battlehawks Tight Ends amassed 10 receptions in 2023, and 16 in 2024. Only the Roughnecks (9), and Panthers (15), saw less production from their position group. With a new Offensive Coordinator in St. Louis the possibility of a new system to involve the Tight End in the Battlehawks Offense is needed especially with a new QB at the helm in 2025.

Predictions for this room? I think Battlehawks Head Coach Anthony Becht and his love of Tight Ends keeps all three to start this season going into Houston for Week One. While the group has been extremely solid the past two years, with a new QB and new Offensive Coordinator, the position that is often referred to as a “safety blanket” will be expected to make more of an impact in 2025. With the season set to kick off in 26 days, we will see how heavy the workload is for this group soon enough.
