Specialist have by far been the most successful position group of spring leaguers transitioning to the NFL. Dating back to even 1980s original USFL with Scott Norwood, and Sean Landeta to the last Two seasons with Brandon Aubrey, and KaVontae Turpin both earning pro bowl selections, Specialist continue to make an impact at the NFL, but not before fine tuning there skills in spring football leagues.

Szmyt may have been one of the UFL’s more underrated kickers due to the attention of the massive leg of Jake Bates. The former Syracuse Kicker put together a solid season going 19/21 with a long of 61 Yards, placing 3rd in the league behind J.J. Molson (62), and Bates (64). McCrane a veteran of the 2020 XFL’s New York Guardians will battle Bates, and Szmyt after going 16/20 with a long of 58. Unlike, Bates and Szmyt, has appeared in NFL games, playing for the Raiders, Steelers, and Cardinals in 2018. McCrane went 8/12 on FGs and 9/9 on Extra Points.

Ironically, all Three kickers will challenge former Maulers and Stallions Kicker Ramiz Ahmed if signed. Ahmed was signed following Sexual Assault Allegations against Brandon McManus giving the Kicker an opportunity. UFL players will be allowed to sign with NFL teams on June 17th, after the UFL Championship. So far outside of Ahmed, Daewood Davis has unofficially agreed to terms with the Carolina Panthers.
