Jahcour Pearson may finally be making his 2024 UFL debut. After spending about Six weeks on the Battlehawks injured reserve, the 2023 All-XFL Wide Receiver was finally activated off the team’s Injured Reserve. In a corresponding move the team waived East St. Louis Native Jeff Thomas who has spent the last Two seasons playing with the USFL’s Birmingham Stallions and Pittsburgh Maulers.
Pearson led the XFL in Receptions and Receiving Yards in 2023 as a member of the Seattle Sea Dragons. The quick twitch Ole Miss/WKU alum was selected by St. Louis in the UFL’s Dispersal Drafts in January and was expected to make an instant impact in the Battlehawks dominant Wide Receiver Corps. The team released Jeff Thomas who spent the first Three weeks of the season on their inactive list and is now free to sign with any UFL team.
The Battlehawks are currently 2-1 as they go into Week 4 of the UFL season and are set to take on the Memphis Showboats in St. Louis this Saturday. Pearson, who despite being off injured reserve remains on the inactive list and may have to wait another week before getting an opportunity to “strap up” for St. Louis. Regardless, the Battlehawks now have another weapon in their arsenal as the team looks to distance themselves in the XFL conference as they hope to earn their first playoff berth in franchise history.
