After the Battlehawks were dealt a blow with an injury to Brandon Sebastion, St. Louis decided to bring back a familiar face to the team for the final weeks of the UFL season. On Monday evening, May 20th the Battlehawks opted to sign Mike Hampton a member of the 2023 team.

Before coming to the Battlehawks in 2023, Hampton had stints with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Off-Season, prior to being released on May 29th, of 2022. Hampton would go on to start Seven games (appearing in Nine) for St. Louis recording 36 tackles and six pass breakups for Donnie Abraham’s Defense. Originally, Hampton was selected in the 2022 XFL November Draft, in the 22nd round.

Hampton was left unprotected during the 2024 UFL dispersal draft, however has another opportunity to prove himself for the Battlehawks in the 2025 season. Currently, the Battlehawks are 6-2 and have clinched a playoff spot for the 2024 playoffs. In week 9 the Battlehawks are set to take the Arlington Renegades in hopes of clinching home-field advantage for the 2024 playoffs.
