It was a busy week for the Battlehawks as the team earned commitments from 12 Players including Running Back Wayne Gallman. The Battlehawks continued to fortify their roster even on Friday Night with one more transaction before the weekend. On February 2nd the UFL PR announced Travis Feeney fan favorite and experienced spring football veteran was returning for the 2024 season.
Feeney’s Pro Football career dates back to 2016 as a 6th round pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers out of Washington. After spending time on the 2016 Practice Squad of the Steelers and Saints Feeney found himself out of Football in 2017, until the AAF came along with the San Diego Fleet selecting him. Feeney would then have Two CFL stints with the Alouettes (briefly) and Argos (2021), until joining the Tampa Bay Bandits of the USFL in 2022.
During the XFL Supplemental Draft Feeney would join the Battlehawks reuniting him with former Fleet Coach Anthony Becht (now STL HC) and General Manager Dave Boller (now STL DPP) becoming a fan favorite in St. Louis.
A seasoned professional now going into his 4th season in spring football Feeney brings a wealth of knowledge to the Battlehawks Defense going into 2024. Feeney has totaled 112 Tackles and 9.5 Sacks in his spring football career and will look to add to those milestones in 2024. The Battlehawks are scheduled to begin play March 30th with the UFL releasing the schedule on February 5th. To get to know Travis a bit more check out the video below:
