The 2024 Battlehawks training camp roster is officially complete. After much speculation on who would earn the 75th roster spot due to some cryptic tweeting by Coach Becht, the Battlehawks added their final piece to what fans hope is a championship team. On February 19th, Mike Mitchell of Sports Illustrated announced the signing of All-XFL Defensive Lineman Austin Faoliu after the Oregon Alum was not offered a futures deal from the Seattle Seahawks.
Faoliu was a UDFA for the Dallas Cowboys in 2021 earning a place on the team’s practice squad after training camp. Faoliu would appear in One game for the Cowboys, recording Two tackles before getting waived in August of 2022. Faoliu would then be drafted by the Seattle Sea Dragons, starting 10 games for the team not only earn All-XFL honors but also a contract with the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL.
After starting the 2023 NFL season on the PUP for Seattle, Faoliu would be signed to their practice squad. In 2023, Faoliu appeared in Two games for the Seahawks recording One tackle.
In an effort to sure up the interior Defensive Line (due to LaCale London still with the Atlanta Falcons), Faoliu gives the Battlehawks a proven asset to combat some of the UFL’s most dangerous rushing attacks. With UFL training camp set to begin this weekend, the Battlehawks will be getting back to work in an effort to earn the franchise’s first playoff berth in their short history.
