For the 2nd consecutive year Battlehawks Head Coach Anthony Becht is searching for a new offensive coordinator. McGeoghan who joined the team in 2024 as the Battlehawks Wide Receivers coach was thrust into the OC role after Bruce Gradkowski was hired by the Detroit Lions just weeks before the start of the 2025 UFL season.

McGeoghan is no stranger to European football spending a season with the Berlin Thunder in 2022 during his playing career. He recorded 15 receptions for 178 yards and 3 touchdowns when the Thunder were apart of NFL Europe. The Thunder now transition into a new era, as the team announced it is leaving the ELF (European League of Football) and joining the European Football Alliance.

McGeoghan is the second Battlehawks coach this offseason to make a change, as Defensive Coordinator Donnie Abraham joined East Tennessee State as a senior defensive analyst. With the Thunder most likely beginning in May it is highly unlikely that he’ll remain with the UFL. The Thunder will be McGeoghan’s first opportunity as a Head Coach after spending 19 seasons as an assistant.

Lots of possibilities remain on both the offensive & defensive sides of the ball. Anthony Becht, should he remain the head coach should be open to all different types of possibilities. IF I were the league, I would want my best OC and DC for the Battlehawks gig. One that is so good that should Becht prove to not be the man for the job, the OC or DC could take over head coaching duties as well. To me, that would mean a Mike Riley & Ted Cottrell combo. I am sure the league can think of others, but to me that seems to be a really good possibility. Mike Riley is the only person to draft a QB that is currently on a NFL team. Maybe he should pick the St. Louis QB.

To clarify, my cousin and I do some work flipping and renting houses. My business is accounting and brokerage. He has been a carpenter for years and now that he is a retired police officer we work on restoring these homes. Although this is my best trait, I am learning on the job and have been pretty good with some stuff, like handling and moving deliveries and managing some stuff while he does more of the actual construction work. I help him when he works, but I know that I am good manager/overseer of all the stuff that allows him to do the stuff that he knows. It this case I see Anthony Becht as me, a quick study, but a little in over his head if he wanted to do this on his own. My cousin would be the experienced OC & DC that actually knows the business. If you want to keep Anthony Becht in his position to manage how he feels he wants the team to be run and what he wants to do in crucial situations, he has the lead on all that, but as many head coaches, maybe he wants the OC to call the plays, unless he has something specific this moment calls for.
