A bit of roster shuffling is underway for the Battlehawks coming off their loss to the D.C. Defenders. The Battlehawks have opted to place their 1st round pick Chevan Cordeiro on Injured Reserve after he missed week 3 with a hamstring injury.
Cordeiro was officially signed by the Battlehawks in December, after his release from the Seattle Seahawks at the conclusion of Seattle’s Rookie Mini Camp. Cordeiro impressed during the Battlehawks training camp, however, could not displace Max Duggan or Manny Wilkins for a place on the “active roster”. Cordeiro has opened the past Two weeks as the Battlehawks QB3/Emergency QB, before his injury.
The Battlehawks now will continue the season with Manny Wilkins, Max Duggan, and Trae Self. With the dynamic ability of Wilkins, losing Cordeiro could leave the Battlehawks a bit thin at the position if one Duggan or Wilkins goes down. The Battlehawks will for now table their 1st round pick it appears for the next Five weeks, possibly paving the way for the future in 2026.
