After activating Chevan Codeiro off injured reserve on Monday, the Battleahawks placed Two Defensive Players on injured reserve as the league wraps up its final Two weeks of the regular season. The Battlehawks will sideline Defensive Back Chris Payton-Jones, and Defensive Lineman Isaiah Mack for the remainder of the season opening up Two roster spots for the team.

Chris Payton-Jones has been one of the better Defensive Backs in the UFL since joining the Battlehawks during the Dispersal Draft. CPJ is 2nd in the UFL in interceptions and passes defended, while also adding 18 tackles. The good news is 3rd year Battlehawk Brandon Sebastian could be eligible to come back off IR soon, as he was placed on the reserve list April 17th, and is now coming up on his 5th week of being inactive. Look for the Battlehawks to bring in familiar faces like DB Dravon Askew-Henry, DB D’Angelo Mandell, DB Avery Young, DB Keylon Kennedy or maybe a member of the 2025 Draft Class if Sebastian isn’t ready.

Isaiah Mack was a highly anticipated signing by St. Louis to strengthen their interior Defensive Line. The UT alum has came on strong with Austin Faoliu, Freedom Akinmoladun, and T.J. Pesefea all missing time registering 11 Tackles and 2.0 Sacks. The Battlehawks currently have Faoliu and Pesefea this on the injury report with Pesefea still listed as limited. The Battlehawks could bring back DT Curtis Brooks or DT Albert Huggins, both of whom were released during training camp.

The Battlehawks with a playoff spot clinched could utilize the final Two weeks to fine-tune their back-end depth in case reserve players are called upon. Look for Avery Young, and Micah Abraham to be called upon in the Defensive Backfield with Kyler Baugh being a more prominent member of the Defensive Line rotation. The Battlehawks are set to matchup with the Brahmas on Friday for their week 9 matchup, to finish up their regular season homestand.
