The injury bug continues for the St. Louis Battlehawks as Andy Carroll announced earlier in the day that Callahan O’Reilly (LB), and Mataeo Durant (RB) will both be heading to injured reserve. The Two younger members of the Battlehawks join Ben DeLuca who was recently placed on Injured Reserve last week for the second consecutive year in a row.
Both Durant and O’Reilly have made considerable strides in 2024 with Durant taking over the starting Running Back position in Week 2, and O’Reilly becoming on the UFL’s leading tacklers from weeks 2-4. Durant in 2024 so far amassed 134 yards on 22 carries and 1 Touchdown this season. O’Reilly was thrust into the starting lineup after an injury to Mike Rose amassing 20 tackles in Three games for the Battlehawks. O’Reilly left Week 4’s game with an injury and looks to be done for the season with his injury.
So far St. Louis has not opted to sign a Running Back or Linebacker to replace either player for Week 5, as teams begin to travel from the Arlington “Hub”. The Battlehawks are currently 3-1 and head to D.C. to challenge the Defenders in hopes of earning their first win against their XFL conference “rival”.
