After St. Louis made a splash in free agency by signing Quarterbacks Max Duggan, and their 1st round draft pick Chevan Cordeiro, the Battlehawks continued to prepare for the 2025 season. With the season less than 100 days away, the Battlehawks secured WR Andy Isabella, and Center Dohnovan West.
Isabella returns to the Battlehawks after signing an LOI, and then being offered a Practice Squad contract with the Steelers. Isabella spent 11 days with the Steelers before being released in early November. Isabella brings a career of 33 receptions, 447 receiving yards through 41 games in his NFL career.
West returns to St. Louis as a reserve Offensive Lineman in 2025. The Arizona State alum has been in Spring Football since 2023 originally with the Vegas Vipers before joining St. Louis after the dispersal draft. West could look to push for a Guard position with Battlehawks opting to go younger on the Offensive Line with 30-Year Old Vadal Alexander still not confirmed for the upcoming season.

Linebacker Johnny Buchanan announced his retirement via social media earlier this week. The Delaware Linebacker was injured during training camp, and placed on injured reserve for the 2024 season. Buchanan was a 2023 Draft Pick by the Battlehawks prior to the USFL-XFL Merger.
Pita Taumoepenu, and Nick Whiteside were announced on the CFL’s NEG list that was released on December 13th. Earlier in the Fall Michael Dwumfour, Jadon Janke (Battlehawks Draft Pick Unsigned) and Chevan Cordeiro were listed on the CFL’s September NEG list as well.
Currently St. Louis has 56 players on their roster as the calendar year comes to an end. UFL rosters are expected to hold at 64 players during training camp. Last season the Battlehawks went 7-3 before losing in the XFL Conference Championship game to the San Antonio Brahmas. The 2025 UFL season is scheduled to begin on March 28th, with team schedules coming out before the end of the year.
