On the day Battlehawks fan favorite Hakeem Butler was released, St. Louis added Two Defensive Backs to their roster for the 2025 season. St. Louis opted to bring back Defensive Back Keylon Kennedy out of Garden City C.C., along with their 9th Round Draft Pick from the 2024 UFL College Draft Defensive Back Myles Sims.

Keylon Kennedy Defensive Back

Kennedy was a standout Defensive Back for the Vegas Vipers of the XFL before the league merged with the USFL. After being selected by the by the Battlehawks, Kennedy would go on to serve as a reserve cornerback for the 2024 season. For his career, Kennedy has totaled 42 tackles and 2 interceptions. Last season he ended the season on injured reserve.

Myles Sims Defensive Back (9th Round Draft Pick)

Sims spent his redshirt season with Michigan in 2018 before transferring to Georgia Tech, where he spent the next five seasons. With the Yellow Jackets, he totaled 136 tackles and 19 passes defended in 53 games (25 starts). Sims is the second Draft Pick to sign with the Battlehawks and will embark on his 1st professional opportunity in the UFL.

The Battlehawks have now secured 17 players for the 2025 season. During this off-season Seven Battlehawks have signed NFL contracts with Hakeem Butler being recently released by the Bengals. While rumors of retirements for some Battlehawks players has circulated, no official statements from the league or sources have surfaced as of yet. The Battlehawks are set to return in 2025 after losing in the XFL Conference Championship to the San Antonio Brahmas.
