With the UFL’s final cuts coming March 23rd, St. Louis remained extremely busy in an effort to fine-tune their roster for the upcoming season. The Battlehawks released Two players in addition to signing Two veterans with cut day on the horizon.
Who Was Released:
Koda Martin and Mykael Wright both were 1st year Battlehawks who are now free agents. Martin was a versatile Offensive Lineman who as a 2019 UDFA spent time with the Chargers, Cardinals, and Saints before joining the Battlehawks as a free agent in December first reported by Mike Mitchell. Wright was a dispersal draft pick by St. Louis after spending 2022 with the Seattle Sea Dragons. Wright appeared in Five games recording 12 tackles for Seattle before the team was disbanded.
Who Was Signed:
Two replace the above mentioned players, St. Louis added Teton Saltes, and Channing Stribling, both players have spent several years in spring football with Saltes starting games for the Michigan Panthers and Champion Arlington Renegades. Stribling who at this point is a spring football main stay, joins his 11th Pro Football Franchise spanning over Six leagues since coming out of Michigan in 2017. Stribling unites with his former Stars Coach Martin Bayless who is now the Defensive Backs Coach for Anthony Becht’s Battlehawks. Stribling also earned All-USFL honors in 2022 with his league leading 7 Interceptions. Stribling’s signing was first reported by James Larsen of PFN.
Final Thoughts:
With the season less than Two weeks away Dave Boller and Anthony Becht continue to feverishly reshape the 2024 Battlehawks roster as St. Louis prepares to head to Michigan to take on the Panthers in week One at Ford Field. Last season St. Louis went 7-3 narrowly missing the playoffs in 2023, due to a controversial tiebreaker.
