While A.J. McCarron has dominated the “feeds” of UFL fans, the Battlehawks continued to build their roster for the 2024 season with Two more additions. On Thursday, the UFL PR “X” account announced the signing of a familiar face along with a new player for added Defensive Line depth.

A Familiar Face Returns!

The Battlehawks managed the impressive feat of bringing back all Five starters on their Offensive Line. Jaryd Jones-Smith returns for his 2nd season with the Battlehawks and his third season in Alt-Football. Smith started Eight games for St. Louis earning All-XFL honors for the Battlehawks in 2023. His performance in 2023 earned him an NFL contract with the Washington Commanders were he spent the entire season on their Practice Squad. In his career Smith has played in Three NFL games, along with Six NFL franchises.

New League, New Face!

The Battlehawks also added an interior Defensive Lineman McKinley Williams out of Syracuse. Williams spent 2022 with the Hamilton Tiger Cats of the CFL appearing in One game for the team. Williams was also signed as a UDFA in 2022 with the Indianapolis Colts but was waived prior to training camp.

Currently the Battlehawks roster sits at 74 players with training camp set to start on February 24th. Last season the Battlehawks went 7-3 narrowly missing the playoffs due to a controversial tiebreaker. With A.J. McCarron set to return, along with a retooled receiving corps the Battlehawks are primed to be one of the UFL’s premiere teams in 2024.
