The Brahmas started the week by signing ten players to their active roster, and they became the first UFL team to complete a trade between former XFL and USFL. That trade sent Bubba Bolden to the Birmingham Stallions, and the Brahmas received defensive back Alijah Holder in return from Birmingham. In addition to these recent roster additions, the Brahmas have continued to sign players to their active roster, and they waived recently signed quarterback Reid Sinnett, allowing the Houston Roughnecks to sign Sinnett.
Since Monday, the Brahmas have signed four additional players to their active roster. Those additions to the Brahmas roster include three of the Brahmas draft picks from the UFL Super Dispersal draft on January 15th. Along with signing those draft picks, San Antonio also filled one of their needs on special teams by signing a long snapper.
On defense, the Brahmas added defensive back AJ Hendy, the Brahmas 8th pick in the UFL Super Dispersal Draft. Hendy comes to San Antonio after playing for the Houston Roughnecks during the 2023 XFL season. Before coming to Houston, Hendy spent time with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL, the New York Guardians from the 2020 XFL season, and he has spent time with the Miami Dolphins, Los Angeles Chargers, and Houston Texans from 2016 until 2019.
On offense, the Brahmas have added John Yarbrough and Dareuan Parker to their offensive line. Yarbrough and Parker played for the Roughnecks during the 2023 XFL season. Yarbrough has experience has played center during his career, which has allowed him to play in the NFL, XFL, USFL, and CFL since 2019. Parker is an offensive tackle who played with the Roughnecks in 2023 but also had an opportunity to spend time with the Chicago Bears in 2021.
The Brahmas have also addressed their need for a long snapper for their special teams units by bringing back Rex Sunahara. Sunahara played in three games for the San Antonio Brahmas during the 2023 XFL season and spent time with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2023. A solid long-snapper tends to be a forgotten position unless special teams make mistakes during the season. So, signing Sunahara to return as their long snapper is an essential addition to the 2024 roster.
