The United Football League continues roster development ahead of its March 28 kickoff, with multiple teams making significant personnel additions in January 2025.

New Signings:

Jabril Cox, LB, Arlington Renegades (LSU)

Cox arrives at Arlington after stints with the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders. His college career includes 258 tackles, 14 sacks, and 6 interceptions at North Dakota State, where he won three FCS National Championships. At LSU, Cox recorded 58 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, and three interceptions in his final collegiate season. The Cowboys selected him in the fourth round (115th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Mike Rose, LB, St. Louis Battlehawks (Iowa State)

Rose returns to the Battlehawks where he made significant defensive contributions in 2023. He started all eight games, recording 45 tackles, two interceptions, and two tackles for loss, earning a 90.6 PFF defensive grade. Between UFL seasons, Rose spent time with the Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints.

DeWayne McBride, RB, Memphis Showboats (UAB)

McBride joins Memphis after being selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft. At UAB, he rushed for 3,100 yards and 32 touchdowns in his final two seasons. During Vikings preseason action, McBride recorded 138 yards and two touchdowns across two seasons.

Morgan Ellison, RB, Houston Roughnecks (Southeastern Louisiana)

Ellison brings spring football experience to Houston’s backfield. With the Sea Dragons, he rushed for 254 yards and one touchdown. He later joined the San Antonio Brahmas, where he accumulated 206 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 4.4 yards per carry.

ZaQuandre White, RB, Houston Roughnecks (South Carolina)

White joins Houston after playing for both the Birmingham Stallions and DC Defenders. With the Stallions, he recorded 129 rushing yards, two rushing touchdowns, 81 receiving yards and one receiving touchdown in five games. At South Carolina, White averaged 6.2 yards per carry, totaling 642 rushing yards and 198 receiving yards.

Rayshad Williams, DB, Houston Roughnecks (Texas Tech)

Williams comes to Houston after an NFL preseason with the Las Vegas Raiders. At Texas Tech, he started 12 games at cornerback, recording 38 tackles and 10 pass breakups in 2021. His senior season included 37 tackles, seven pass breakups, and one interception.

Nash Jensen, G, Memphis Showboats (North Dakota State)

Jensen joins Memphis after spending time on the Carolina Panthers’ practice squad. He earned AP FCS All-America First Team honors as a senior at North Dakota State. Jensen started his final four collegiate seasons on the offensive line.

Josiah Bronson, DL, Memphis Showboats (Washington)

Bronson returns to Memphis after recording 12 tackles, two tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and six quarterback hurries in 2024. He started four of ten games for the Showboats last season. Bronson joined Memphis following an NFL stint with the New England Patriots.

Myles McHaney, DE, Memphis Showboats (Prairie View A&M)

McHaney joins the Showboats defensive front after his college career at Prairie View A&M. He recorded 48 tackles and 4.5 tackles for loss in two seasons. McHaney earned his roster spot after participating in a UFL showcase in 2024.

Avery Jones, C, Houston Roughnecks (Auburn)

Jones joins Houston after spending preseason with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He brings versatility to the offensive line, with experience at both guard and center positions. Jones played at North Carolina and East Carolina before transferring to Auburn for his final season.

Players Waived by Houston Roughnecks:

Dezmon Jackson (Sam Houston State) – Running back waived following the additions of White and Ellison.

Carlos Carriere (Central Michigan) – Wide receiver released before training camp opportunity.

Calvin Ashley (Auburn) – Offensive guard cut despite previous All-USFL performance with New Jersey Generals.

Maea Teuhema (Southeastern Louisiana) – Veteran offensive guard released after spring league experience in AAF, XFL, and USFL.

Ethan Carde (Boise State) – Offensive tackle waived prior to training camp.

Juwan Mitchell (Colorado) – Linebacker released before camp after collegiate experience at Texas, Tennessee, and Colorado.
