Overview

The DC Defenders enter Week 4 as the UFL’s only remaining undefeated team, sporting a perfect 3-0 record behind quarterback Jordan Ta’amu’s league-leading passing attack. After defeating the St. Louis Battlehawks last week, the Defenders look to continue their dominance at home against the struggling San Antonio Brahmas. The Brahmas (0-3) showed signs of life in Week 3 under newly appointed interim head coach Payton Pardee, posting a season-high 257 yards of total offense despite falling short against the Michigan Panthers. With Pardee now officially taking over head coaching duties from Wade Phillips, the Brahmas will be looking for their first win in a challenging road environment.

Key Players

Jordan Ta’amu (QB, Defenders)
League-leading 606 passing yards through three games (202 yards per game), with 5 touchdowns against 3 interceptions. Coming off a stellar performance with 243 yards and 3 TDs against St. Louis.

Ty Scott (WR, Defenders)
Team’s top receiving threat with 13 catches for 205 yards (15.8 avg) and 1 touchdown, including a 62-yard bomb last week. He is out on IR.

Chris Rowland (WR, Defenders)
Explosive playmaker with 8 receptions for 129 yards (16.1 avg) and 1 touchdown, featuring a 45-yard reception.

Jacob Harris (WR, Brahmas)
Ranks second in the UFL with 188 receiving yards on 11 catches, averaging 17.1 yards per reception.

Anthony McFarland Jr. (RB, Brahmas)
Dual-threat back with 141 rushing yards (8.8 yards per carry) and league-leading 428 all-purpose yards including kick return duties.

Keys to the Game

Defenders’ Balanced Attack
DC has shown the ability to strike through the air with Ta’amu’s precision passing while also establishing a consistent ground game with Deon Jackson (138 rushing yards) and Abram Smith (144 rushing yards). Their balanced approach has kept defenses guessing and opened up big-play opportunities.

Brahmas’ Special Teams Edge
San Antonio boasts one of the league’s top special teams units, featuring punter Brad Wing (51.8 yards per punt average) and returner Anthony McFarland Jr. (262 kickoff return yards). Winning the field position battle will be crucial for the Brahmas to stay competitive.

Red Zone Efficiency
Both teams have struggled to convert drives into touchdowns. The Defenders have relied heavily on kicker Matt McCrane (10 field goals), while the Brahmas need to improve their finishing ability after settling for field goals in promising drives.

Score Prediction

DC Defenders 23 – San Antonio Brahmas 16

The Defenders should continue their winning ways at home behind Ta’amu’s efficient passing attack and a stout defense that has allowed just 43 points through three games. While the Brahmas showed improvement last week and will likely keep it competitive through special teams and occasional big plays from Jacob Harris, DC’s balanced approach and home-field advantage should secure them a fourth straight victory.
