The AAF legacy continues, as John Wolford is back in the NFL. The former Arizona Hotshots QB returns to an NFL roster due to an injury to a season ending injury to Carson Wentz. Wolford joins the Minnesota Vikings on their practice squad as a veteran presence behind J.J. McCarthy and Max Brosmer.

Wolford came out of Wake Forest in 2018 as a UDFA with the New York Jets. After being released, Wolford joined the AAF playing under Head Coach Rick Neuheisel’s Arizona Hotshots. He led the Hotshots to a 5-3 record throwing for over 1,600 yards with a TD:INT ratio of 14:7. Since the AAF Wolford has extended his NFL career for the past six seasons including starting four games, earning a Super Bowl Championship, and approximately $4 million dollars since 2019.
