While the UFL’s Dispersal Draft may have “rubbed” a lot of people the wrong way due to half of the league’s workforce getting cut, several players have begun finding employment in other leagues. One former Battlehawk QB is no exception, as reserve Quarterback Vincent Testaverde Jr. has found a “home” once more. On February 26th, the AFL’s Orlando Predators announced that the team has signed the former XFL Quarterback for their 2024 season.
The son of of an NFL Pro-Bowler, Testaverde Jr. has a well traveled career already dating back to his time in college. After stints at Texas Tech, and the University of Miami, Testaverde Jr. finally caught on at FCS Albany (NY), starting 8 games in his career. As a UDFA in 2019, Testaverde Jr. began his professional career with the Tampa Bay Bucs, followed up by stints with the Tampa Bay Vipers (XFL 2.0), Arizona Rattlers (IFL), Albany Empire (NAL), Edmonton Elks (CFL), and then the last Three weeks of the 2023 XFL season with the St. Louis Battlehawks due to a Nick Tiano injury. Testaverde Jr. also was signed with the BC Lions of the CFL in 2020 however the season was canceled before he could take advantage of the opportunity.
Testaverde Jr. now takes his talents to the AFL, for hopefully another “shot” at his professional career. At 27 Years old the the former Albany QB has already been apart of Six leagues and 8 teams since 2019.
