The Detroit Lions signed wide receiver Kaden Davis on Monday. Davis played his collegiate ball with Northwest Missouri State. He spent time with the Denver Broncos before playing for the Michigan Panthers in 2023. Davis was one of 2 players signed by the Lions who attended their rookie minicamp last week. The Lions have also signed tight end Parke Hesse.

WR Kaden Davis – Northwest Missouri State (6’1, 190 lbs, 25 y/o)

Kaden Davis played for Northwest Missouri State in 2019 and 2021 where he played in 27 games. He caught 55 passes with the program for 971 yards and 11 touchdowns. His biggest year was in 2021 when he had 44 receptions for 714 yards and 10 touchdowns over 13 games. He also had 1 kickoff return touchdown in 2021.

Davis was named Honorable Mention All-MIAA in 2021. He was named MIAA Academic Honor Roll in 2021 and 2019.

Prior to playing for Northwest Missouri State Davis played for Butler Community College (KS) in 2017 and 2018. He played in 12 games in 2018 over which span he recorded 21 catches for 245 yards and a touchdown.

Davis showed impressive athleticism on his pro day in 2022 where he ran a 4.44-second 40-yard dash, 4.15-second shuttle, and 6.88-second 3-cone drill. He also performed a 36.5-inch vertical, a 10’04” broad jump, and 10 reps on the bench.

Following the 2022 NFL Draft, he signed with the Denver Broncos as a free agent. He was cut in mid-August and brought back to the practice squad in November until he was released in January of 2023.

Davis signed with the Michigan Panthers midway through the 2023 USFL season where he played in 5 games and recorded 8 receptions for 83 yards. He added 5 catches for 57 yards in the Panthers’ playoff loss.

He contributed on special teams for the Panthers returning 13 kickoffs over the regular season and playoffs for an average of 25.8 yards per return. He also returned 4 punts in the regular season for an average of 5.5 yards and added a 19-yard punt return in the playoffs.

Most recently Davis was with the Arizona Cardinals over the 2023 season. He was waived during final roster cuts and spent the season on the practice roster. Davis was signed to a reserve/future contract with the Cardinals but was recently waived on April 30.

This past preseason he played in 3 games for the Cardinals recording 8 catches for 73 yards and a touchdown. He also returned 2 punts for an average of 13.5 yards per return.
