Frank Ginda is back in the NFL as he signs with the Los Angeles Chargers after playing this past season with the Michigan Panthers. Ginda is a middle linebacker with strong tackling ability and a knack for getting to all areas of the field.

Ginda’s 2024 season with the Michigan Panthers was cut short due to an injury that made him miss the final 4 regular season games and the playoffs. Over 6 games he recorded 20 solo tackles, and 13 assisted tackles.

Ginda was the 2023 Defensive Player of the Year of the USFL in 2023 with the Panthers. He led the league in tackles with 104 (51 solo, 53 assisted). He also contributed 3 interceptions, 3 tackles for a loss, and a sack. In the playoff loss, he added 6 solo tackles, 5 assisted tackles, and a sack. In Ginda’s first season with the Panthers, he contributed 90 tackles and a sack over the 10-game season in 2022.

Ginda has played in many spring football leagues beginning with the San Diego Fleet of the AAFin 2019 and then the Orlando Guardians of the XFL in 2020.

Ginda has had a few cracks at NFL teams over the years beginning in 2018 when he signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent before he was waived in mid-June. He spent time with Miami’s training camp in 2018 as well.

He did not get another NFL opportunity until 2023 after he tore it up playing for the Panthers and he was signed by the Atlanta Falcons. Despite being the 45th highest-graded linebacker by Pro Football Focus in the preseason that year he was waived amid final roster cuts although he was later brough back to the team’s practice squad in late November.

With only 1 preseason game remaining, Ginda will need to waste no time showing the Chargers what he can do.
