Week one of the UFL season was somewhat disappointing.
The ratings are down from last year, and 3 of the 4 games were decided by multiple touchdowns.
The Stallions’ 11–18 loss to the D.C. Defenders was the only game decided by one score.
The overall level of football was good, but from a casual fan perspective, there wasn’t much suspense or excitement.
Week two starts with a great matchup, which will hopefully change all that.
Storylines
Both the Panthers (7–3) and Stallions (9–1) had good records last season.
The Panthers looked just as good as their previous record in week one.
The Stallions struggled, but since they are the defending champs, the team still has high expectations.
Both teams played on Sunday, which means they are coming off short weeks.
This game will go a long way towards determining if these two teams are legitimate contenders this season.
Stallions Preview
There is no way around it, week one was a disappointment for the Stallions.
The defense played well at times, but the offense never really got going. The passing game was nonexistent, and their RBs combined for a total of 38 rushing yards.
The Stallions will need to get their RB run game going to take some of the pressure off Alex McGough while he shakes off the rust.
A win against a strong Michigan Panthers team would go a long way towards making people forget about their week one struggles.
Panthers Preview
The Panthers started the season off in a big way, a 26–12 win over the Memphis Showboats.
The Panthers’ defense had a great day, forced two interceptions, and limited the Showboats to just 12 points.
With Birmingham Stallions QB Alex McGough coming off an 89-yard passing game, the Panthers’ defense must be chomping at the bit.
The Panthers will look to take advantage of the Stallions’ early struggles to start the season 2–0.

Looking at the tickets sold. There should be a really nice environment in Michigan tomorrow.
