Harrison Mevis and the rest of the Birmingham Stallions ended their season last weekend.
That means it’s time to look ahead, both to next season and potential NFL invites.
As is to be expected, the NFL invites have started rolling in.
Mevis is among the first two Stallions to get tryout invitations. And, if this season is any indication, he has a pretty good chance of making the most of it.
Harrison Mevis

Harrison “the Thiccer Kicker” Mevis is a fan favorite for two main reasons.
First of all, his nickname is amazing.
Secondly, he has the production to back it up.
Mevis’s 2025 season was one of the best I’ve ever seen. He was 21–23 on field goals this season, and they weren’t a bunch of chip shots either.
- 21–23 field goals
- 14–16 from 40+
- 6–8 from 50+
- Only missed (56 and 63 yards)
Harrison Mevis and fellow UFL standout Rodrigo Blankenship will both try out for the New York Jets.
Mevis will then have a tryout with the Giants.
After college, the Thiccer Kicker spent time with the Carolina Panthers, but he failed to make the final roster.
If this season is any indication, this time around might go better for him.
The Birmingham Stallions would have a hard time replacing him, but it would be a good problem to have.
Barry Wesley
The Birmingham Stallions’ offensive line struggled with inconsistent play and injuries all season.
Barry Wesley was one of the bright spots on the line. He started 9 games and showcased his versatility by playing both tackle and guard.
The New Orleans Saints invited Wesley in for a tryout. If the tryout goes well, it will be Wesley’s second time working his way up to the NFL.
After going undrafted out of college, Wesley signed with the IFL’s Massachusetts Pirates. However, he never suited up for them because he was picked up by the Seattle Sea Dragons for the 2023 XFL season.
Wesley played well enough in the XFL to get signed by the Atlanta Falcons. Then, he spent 2023 on the Falcons’ practice squad before being let go during the final rounds of cuts in 2024.
With his experience and versatility, there is no counting Barry Wesley out.
More to come?
Harrison Mevis and Barry Wesley won’t be the last Birmingham Stallions players to get a shot at the NFL.
The only question is, who else? And, who will make it to the NFL long-term?
Only time will tell, but it will be fun to watch and speculate in the meantime.
