The Houston Roughnecks start their 2025 UFL campaign looking to rebound from their 1-9 record in 2024. Head Coach CJ Johnson along with new GM Will Lewis bring renewed focus to TDECU Stadium for the league’s second season. They return TDECU after playing the 2024 UFL season at Rice Stadium.

TDECU Stadium is located at the University of Houston and is home to the Houston Cougars football team

The Roughnecks are ready to kick off the 2025 UFL season in a big way, and there’s no better place to do it than right here at home, at TDECU Stadium,” Johnson said. “We’re inviting all of Houston to bring the energy and passion that only H-Town can deliver on gameday. Let’s do it for the H on March 28!”

Roughnecks Schedule Breakdown:

Week 1: vs. St. Louis Battlehawks
Friday, March 28 | 7:00 PM CT | Houston, TX | TDECU Stadium | FOX

The Roughnecks host the UFL’s season opener against St. Louis. The Battlehawks won both matchups in 2024, setting up this opening night test for Houston’s rebuilt roster. This will also be the first Friday Night UFL on FOX game. A good close could set the tone for the 2025 UFL season.

Week 2: at Arlington Renegades
Sunday, April 6 | 11:00 AM CT | Arlington, TX | Choctaw Stadium | ESPN

Houston faces the Renegades, the lone team they defeated in 2024. This morning kickoff marks their first road test under Coach Johnson.

Week 3: at Memphis Showboats
Saturday, April 12 | 1:30 PM CT | Memphis, TN | Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium | ESPN

The Roughnecks travel to Memphis for their first inter-conference matchup. The teams split two close contests in 2024, with both games decided in the final minutes. This season will be different as they face new Showboats head coach Ken Whisenhunt.

Week 4: vs. Birmingham Stallions
Saturday, April 19 | 6:00 PM CT | Houston, TX | TDECU Stadium | FOX

Houston hosts the defending champions. The Roughnecks kept their 2024 matchup close into the fourth quarter before falling short. This will also be there second home game for the first half of the 2025 UFL season.

Week 5: at San Antonio Brahmas
Sunday, April 27 | 2:00 PM CT | San Antonio, TX | The Alamodome | ESPN

The Texas rivalry renews after San Antonio took both 2024 matchups in the final minutes. The Brahmas add quarterback Kellen Mond for 2025. This is one of only four San Antonio home games for the season.

Week 6: vs. Memphis Showboats
Saturday, May 3 | 11:00 AM CT | Houston, TX | TDECU Stadium | ABC

The Showboats return to Houston for the teams’ second meeting. This is also their second early game of the season.

Week 7: at Birmingham Stallions
Sunday, May 11 | 11:00 AM CT | Birmingham, AL | Protective Stadium | ABC

The Roughnecks travel to Birmingham seeking their first win at Protective Stadium since the league merger. Another game on the early window.

Week 8: vs. Michigan Panthers
Saturday, May 17 | 12:00 PM CT | Houston, TX | TDECU Stadium | FOX

Mike Nolan’s Panthers visit Houston. The Roughnecks led by double digits in their 2024 matchup before Michigan rallied late.

Week 9: vs. DC Defenders
Sunday, May 25 | 3:00 PM CT | Houston, TX | TDECU Stadium | FOX

The Roughnecks’ final home game features DC. Houston fell one play short against the Defenders in 2024.

Week 10: at Michigan Panthers
Saturday, May 31 | 2:00 PM CT | Detroit, MI | Ford Field | ESPN

Houston concludes their regular season at Ford Field, where the Panthers pulled away in the second half of their 2024 meeting.

The schedule features five home games at TDECU Stadium and five road games. Broadcasts split between FOX, ESPN, and ABC networks as the Roughnecks seek to improve on their 2024 campaign.
