The Michigan Panthers have signed quarterback E.J. Perry and defensive tackle Daniel Wise on Tuesday. Both players were impactful starters for the Panthers to begin last season until injuries interrupted their playing time.

QB E.J. Perry (26 y/o, 6’2, 210 lbs)

E.J. Perry began last season as the starter for the Michigan Panthers before an injury shut him down in the 4th game. He completed 55 of his 89 passes for 664 yards and 2 touchdowns with 3 interceptions. Perry added 151 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns on 23 rushes. While his passing numbers were not eye-popping his play often saw him make the most of situations that saw him playing under pressure in from the opponent’s pass rush.

Perry joined the Panthers late in the 2023 season and got his first start in a must-win scenario in week 10. The Panthers won that game 23-20 over the Philadelphia Starts earning the Panthers a playoff spot. He completed 12 of his 23 passes for 121 yards and rushed for 48 yards and a touchdown in the regular season finale. In the North Division Championship loss, he amassed 370 yards and 2 touchdowns with 1 interception.

Perry was briefly on the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad in August where has also spent time in 2022 and 2023. He played his final 2 seasons of collegiate ball for Brown in 2019 and 2021 where he accumulated 5,981 yards and 45 touchdowns with 27 interceptions over 20 games.
