The Michigan Panthers have signed defensive tackle Damion Daniels per the UFL Communications Department on Wednesday.

S Damion Daniels – Nebraska (24 y/o, 6’3, 325 lbs)

Damion Daniels played for Nebraska from 2017 to 2021 with 2017 being a redshirt season. He played in 41 games with Nebraska generating 24 solo tackles and 73 assisted tackles. He started in the first 11 games in his senior season before an injury ended his 2021 season early. Daniels generated 9 solo tackles, 24 assisted tackles, and 2 tackles for a loss in his final season.

Daniels was recognized for his run-stopping abilities as he was an Honorable Mention All-Big Ten in 2021 by Coaches and Media as well as the Nebraska Defensive Lineman of the Year. He was a team captain his final season.

Daniels signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2022 although he was waived on August 16.

Daniels played in both the XFL and USFL in 2023. He played for the St. Louis Battlehawks in 1 game generating 1 solo tackle prior to his release. He then signed with the Houston Gamblers in the USFL where he played in 3 games and contributed 1 solo tackle and 4 assisted tackles.

Daniels was waived by Houston last week on Saturday, March 2.
