The Michigan Panthers have signed safety Kedrick Whitehead Jr. on per the UFL Communications Department on Tuesday. This move comes after the release of safety Will Adams on Monday.

S Kedrick Whitehead Jr. – Delaware (24 y/o, 5’11, 195 lbs)

Kedrick Whitehead Jr. played for Deleware from 2018 to 2023 where he appeared in 55 games. With Delewared he amassed 159 solo tackles, 136 assisted tackles, 25 passes defended, 10.5 tackles for a loss, 5 interceptions, 3 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries, and 2 sacks. He was a team captain in his final 3 seasons with the program.

Whitehead Jr. was named Third Team All-CAA in 2019 and was named First Team All-CAA in 2020, 2021, and 2022. Additionally, he received FCS All-American honors from various publications throughout his collegiate career such as in 2022 when The Blue Bloods named him first team, Stats Perform named him Second Team, and the Associated Press named him Third Team.

Whitehead Jr. signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2023 although his chances were limited by injury. He played in the first preseason game during which he made 3 solo tackles. He was placed on injured reserve on August 30 and waived from injured reserve on September 4.

S Will Adams – Virginia State (24 y/o, 5’11, 200 lbs)

The Michigan Panthers released Will Adams on Monday. He was signed by the team on January 28.

Adams played for Virginia State from 20016 to 2021 where he played in 36 games. At Virginia State, he accumulated 102 solo tackles, 49 assisted tackles, and 5 interceptions. He was named All-CIAA in 2021.

He signed with the Washington Commanders as an undrafted free agent in 2022 although he was waived in June of 2022.

Adams played last season in the XFL with the Vegas Vipers where he made 5 solo tackles over 5 games.
