Predictions from the writers of UFL News Hub for week 6 of UFL football. We have finished the first half of the regular season and enter the season’s 2nd half this weekend. The 5-0 Birmingham Stallions will take on the 1-4 Memphis Showboats on the road Saturday to open this weekend’s Slate of Games.
The playoff picture is beginning to take shape as in both the XFL and USFL division the 2nd place playoff seed has a 2-game lead over third place.
UFL Power Rankings Week 5: The Battlehawks Strike Back
BIRMINGHAM STALLIONS (5-0) VS MEMPHIS SHOWBOATS (1-4)
Saturday, May 4 | 12:00 PM ET | Memphis, TN | Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium | ABC | ESPN Xtra on SiriusXM
The Stallions ride into Memphis on a 12-game winning streak while Memphis finds themselves on a 4-game losing slide. Memphis is beginning to enter desperation time as the season enters the 2nd half with them 2 games out of a playoff spot. It’s hard to imagine Birmingham losing to Memphis who have lost their 3 last games by 2 scores.
Writer’s Pick: 100% Birmingham
HOUSTON ROUGHNECKS (1-4) VS ST. LOUIS BATTLEHAWKS (4-1)
Saturday, May 4 | 3:00 PM ET | St. Louis, MO | The Dome at America’s Center | FOX | FOX Sports on SiriusXM
Houston is another USFL division team that needs to start stacking up the wins. They have a tough challenge ahead playing on the road in the UFL’s most difficult building to play in as a visitor as they take on the St. Louis Battlehawks. Houston is coming off of their toughest loss of the season which came against Birmingham at home losing 9-32 at home. On the other hand, the Battlehawks are coming off their biggest win of the season after defeating the D.C. Defenders on the road 45-12.
Writer’s Pick: 100% St. Louis
ARLINGTON RENEGADES (0-5) VS MICHIGAN PANTHERS (3-2)
Sunday, May 5 | 1:00 PM ET | Detroit, MI | Ford Field | FOX | FOX Sports on SiriusXM
Arlington is on a 5 game-losing streak to open the season despite being the 2023 XFL Champions. 3 of their games have been by a loss of 1 score. Arlington has had a well-performing passing offense led by quarterback Luis Perez but has struggled defensively. Michigan is coming off of their most decisive victory of the season after defeating Memphis 35-18 on the road. The Panthers enjoyed a victory in which their running game dominated and their defense had 6 sacks last week. This does not bode well for Arlington who has struggled in stopping the run this season.
Writer’s Pick: 86% Michigan
SAN ANTONIO BRAHMAS (4-1) VS D.C. DEFENDERS (2-3)
Sunday, May 5 | 4:00 PM ET | Washington, D.C. | Audi Field | FOX | FOX Sports on SiriusXM
San Antonio travels to DC to take on the Defenders for an XFL Divisional showdown. The Defenders had won their first 10 home games prior to last week’s loss in which they lost at home to St. Louis 12-45. San Antonio is coming off a 25-25 win over the Arlington Renegades on the road. The last time these two teams met the Brahmas pass rush was all over Jordan Ta’amu as San Antonio won 27-12.
