Predictions from the writers of UFL News Hub for week 9 of UFL football. The playoffs are nearly set in stone as the only thing left to be determined is if it will be San Antonio or St. Louis hosting the XFL Division final. Despite the teams being set for who qualifies for the playoffs there is still much to play for as players look to build tape to attract the attention of NFL scouts or secure their position to return to the team next season.

UFL Power Rankings Week 8

ST. LOUIS BATTLEHAWKS (6-2) VS ARLINGTON RENEGADES (1-7)

Saturday, May 25 | 12:00 PM ET | Arlington, TX | Choctaw Stadium | ABC | ESPN Xtra on SiriusXM

Michigan Panthers (5-2) Final Home Game vs Memphis Showboats (1-6) Week 8 Preview

St. Louis defeated Arlington in a close match in week 2 when these teams met earlier in the season 27-24. Arlington will look to even the series as they host the Battlehawks for their final home game of the season. Arlington has been a team better than their record would indicate with many of their losses coming from close games.

The Battlehawks won last week despite being without quarterback A.J. McCarron. Manny Wilkins will get the start again for St. Louis this week.

St. Louis is currently tied for first in the XFL Division with the San Antonio Brahmas and racing to secure home-field advantage.

Writer’s Pick: 71% St. Louis

BIRMINGHAM STALLIONS (8-0) VS SAN ANTONIO BRAHMAS (6-2)

Saturday, May 25 | 3:00 PM ET | San Antonio, TX | The Alamodome | ABC | ESPN Xtra on SiriusXM

San Antonio will host the Stallions in what is the first meeting between these franchises. The Stallions are riding a 15-game win streak that dates back to last year. San Antonio’s quarterback Quinten Dormady passed for 320 yards and 2 touchdowns last week in the Brahmas’ win over Arlington. San Antonio will need strong play from him in order to give the Stallions their first loss of the season.

Writer’s Pick: 86% Birmingham

D.C. DEFENDERS (3-5) VS MEMPHIS SHOWBOATS (1-7)

Sunday, May 26 | 2:30 PM ET | Memphis, TN | Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium | FOX* | FOX Sports on SiriusXM

The Memphis Showboats will try to end their season on a positive note as they play their final 2 games at home. Sunday the Boats will host the DC Defenders who will be looking to right their own ship after having now lost 4 of their last 5 games.

It has been a rather disappointing season for both teams. While both teams are eliminated from playoff contention it will be highly important to each club to get a W this weekend.

Writer’s Pick: 100% D.C

MICHIGAN PANTHERS (6-2) VS HOUSTON ROUGHNECKS (1-7)

Sunday, May 26 | 2:30 PM ET | Houston, TX | Rice Stadium | FOX* | FOX Sports on SiriusXM

The Michigan Panthers travel to Houston to face the Roughnecks on Sunday. Michigan is on a 4 game-win streak despite playing without quarterbacks E.J. Perry or Danny Etling in the previous 2 weeks. Bryce Perkins played well for Michigan in the last 2 weeks.

Houston is coming off a close loss to the Birmingham Stallions and now are on a 4 game-losing streak. Quarterback Reid Sinnett will look to bounce back after completing just 6 of his 13 passes for 99 yards with a touchdown and 1 interception.

Writer’s Pick: 100% Michigan
