After signing their QB1 for the 2026 season, the Renegades are bringing back a more youthful with their 2nd year Quarterback. Per his agency, Renegades Quarterback Luke Lehnen is returning to the team for his 2nd season of professional football after spending 2025 as their QB3.

Lehnen was a true rookie with “Dallas” in 2025 signing with the team after the retirement of Lindsey Scott and foregoing the traditional draft process. Lehnen is statistically one of college football’s best Quarterback’s as the division-III product won two national championships at North Central College amassing a record of 57-2. Lehnen amassed 213 total touchdowns (162 passing touchdowns, 51 rushing) along with over 15,000 yards (12,658 passing, 3,326 rushing) enroute to two Gagliardi Trophies (Division-III Heisman).

Lehnen now returns to the UFL with the hope of increasing his role for the 2026 season. Traditionally, the Renegades have opted for using multiple Quarterbacks over the last several years, with players like Kelly Bryant, Lindsey Scott Jr., and Holton Ahlers all being utilized in packages to get them on the field. With Lehnen’s athletic ability it’s extremely likely that the division-III product will see reps this coming spring. The Renegades currently have two Quarterbacks under contract for 2026 with the retirement Holton Ahlers. It is worth noting that Dallas technically holds the rights to QBs like Connor Degenhardt (XFL 2023 Rookie Draft), Connor Blumrick (XFL 2023 Rookie UDFA), and John Rhys Plumlee (3rd overall pick in 2024 UFL Rookie Draft).
