There have been a few roster adjustments as the San Antonio Brahmas settle into a training camp routine. Today, the UFL announced that the Brahma’s most recent additions to their training camp roster are center Sam Tecklenburg and linebacker Kelechi Anyalebechi.

The additions of Tecklenburg and Anyalebechi are San Antonio’s latest effort to improve the depth of critical positions early in training camp. At the beginning of the week, the Brahmas signed cornerback BoPete Keyes and former tight end Connor Davis as offensive tackles. As practices begin to increase in intensity, it is reasonable to expect the Brahmas to continue to make roster changes to improve critical areas of their roster.

Sam Tecklenburg is a 6’4″, 310-pound offensive lineman from Plano, Texas, and he played college football at Baylor University. While at Baylor, Tecklenburg played center in 52 games from 2015 until 2019. Tecklenburg has spent the last four seasons with the Carolina Panthers; in 2020, he played in two games for the Panthers, and in 2020, he played in 15 games. In 2022 and 2023, Tecklenburg spent time on the practice squad for Carolina.

Kelechi Anyalebechi is a 6’0″, 240-pound from Pearland, Texas, and he played college football at the University of Incarnate Word. Anyalebechi played at Incarnate Word from 2018 until 2022, and he played in 52 games. While playing for the Cardinals, he recorded 336 total tackles and 10.0 quarterback sacks and intercepted four passes, including one for a touchdown. In 2023, Anyalebechi spent time with the Los Angeles Rams.

Early Departures from the Herd

Along with the Brahmas training camp roster additions, the Brahmas have removed a few players from their roster. Yesterday, the UFL announced that the Brahmas had waived offensive tackle Dareuan Parker.

Parker signed with the Brahmas after playing nine games for the Houston Roughnecks during the 2023 XFL season, and in 2021, he spent time with the Chicago Bears. There are also a few Brahmas players who have yet to report to training camp. UFL insider James Larsen tweeted that defensive lineman Austin Edwards and defensive back Kevin Tolliver II had yet to report to training camp in Arlington, Texas.
