As 2025 begins, the stage is set for the second season of the UFL in the spring of 2025. After much anticipation, the UFL released the regular season schedules for all eight teams. Coming into the season, each team will need to find a way to navigate their 10-game schedule to qualify for the UFL playoffs and try to make a run to a UFL championship.
Expectations will be high for the San Antonio Brahmas, as they have consistently improved during the first two seasons that they have existed as a franchise. In 2023, the Brahmas struggled to a 3-7 record during their first season in the XFL, and in 2024, the Brahmas made several adjustments that led to a 7-3 record and a berth in the inaugural UFL Championship game.
The Brahmas lost that championship game to the Birmingham Stallions 25-0, and since that loss, head coach Wade Phillips and the Brahmas have attempted to upgrade their roster to make the next step and win a UFL championship. To accomplish that goal, the Brahmas will face four road games to start the UFL season before they take on the Stallions once again in Week 6, and then they will finish the season with three home games in the final four weeks. A disadvantage that the Brahmas will have is that they will only have four home games this season, and they must travel to Saint Louis two times to face XFL conference rival, the Saint Louis Battlehawks.
Week 1: San Antonio Brahmas @ Arlington Renegades
Saturday, March 20th, 4:00 pm EST, Arlington, TX, Choctaw Stadium,
Channel: FOX
The Brahmas will open the 2025 UFL season on the road in Arlington, facing their XFL division rival, the Arlington Renegades. San Antonio’s defense will be tested against the Renegades’ traditionally strong run games. It will also be important for the Brahmas’ offense to get on track early in 2025.
Week 2: San Antonio Brahmas @ Saint Louis Battlehawks
Sunday, April 6th, 6:30 pm EST, Saint Louis, MO, The Dome at America’s Center
Channel: FS1
During Week 2, the Brahmas make their first of two trips to Saint Louis to face the Battlehawks. The last time the Brahmas and Battlehawks played was during the 2024 XFL Championship game when the Brahmas upset the Battlehawks to go to their first UFL Championship game. It is unclear who the Battlehawks quarterback will be, but the Brahmas will definitely face a hostile crowd and a strong defense from Saint Louis.
Week 3: San Antonio Brahmas @ Michigan Panthers
Sunday, April 13th, noon EST, Detroit, MI, Ford Field
Channel: ABC
The Brahmas will face their first USFL division opponent when they travel to Detroit, Michigan, to face the Michigan Panthers. This game is guaranteed a physical matchup, and the Brahmas offense will need to come ready to grind out hard yards against a strong Panthers defense. Wade Phillips must prepare San Antonio’s defensive front seven to play their best game of the 2025 season.
Week 4: San Antonio Brahmas @ DC Defenders
Sunday, April 20th, 5:00 pm EST, Washington, DC, Audi Field
Channel: FOX
This will be the Brahmas’ fourth road game to start the 2025 season, and it will be their second game in a row in which they face a team with a strong defensive mentality. The Brahmas offensive line will need to be ready to face a blitz-heavy defensive scheme from the Defenders. San Antonio must come into DC with a gunfighter mentality and have a game plan to beat man coverage to put points on the scoreboard.
Week 5: Houston Roughnecks @ San Antonio Brahmas
Sunday, April 27th, 3:00 pm EST, San Antonio, TX, The Alamodome
Channel: ESPN
The Brahmas get their first home game in Week 5, as they face the Houston Roughnecks in the Sombrero Bowl. Houston has been one of the most proactive teams in the UFL, changing its front office and roster in an attempt to have a turnaround season in 2025. This game also means more to the Brahmas and Roughnecks, as most of the coaches and personnel came from the XFL version of the Roughnecks to lead the Brahmas in the UFL.
Week 6: San Antonio Brahmas @ Birmingham Stallions
Sunday, May 4th, 4:00 pm EST, Birmingham, AL, Protective Stadium
Channel: FOX
To start the second half of the 2025 season, the Brahmas will have an opportunity to test themselves against the three-time spring football champion Stallions. In 2024, the Brahmas defeated the Stallions during the regular season but were dominated by them in the UFL Championship game. Birmingham will have a great team again, so the Brahmas must play their best game of the season to leave Birmingham victorious.
Week 7: DC Defenders @ San Antonio Brahmas
Friday, May 9th, 8:00 pm EST, San Antonio, TX, The Alamodome
Channel: FOX
The Brahmas will come off their big game against the Stallions, hosting the DC Defenders. At this point in the season, injuries may be a significant factor for both teams as they battle for position in the XFL conference standings. Once again, San Antonio will need to be ready to face pressure from the Defender’s defense, and they will need to hit big plays to put points on the board in this conference matchup.
Week 8: Memphis Showboats @ San Antonio Brahmas
Friday, May 16th, 8:00 pm EST, San Antonio, TX, The Alamodome
Channel: FOX
The Memphis Showboats will be the last matchup between the Brahmas and the UFSL conference until the 2025 UFL championship game. In 2024, the Brahmas had to make a big comeback in the second half to defeat the Showboats on the road in Week 2. San Antonio should be preparing to make their final push to the playoffs, but they will need a hard-fought win against a scrappy Memphis team.
Week 9: San Antonio Brahma @ Saint Louis Battlehawks
Friday, May 23rd, 8:00 pm EST, Saint Louis, MO, The Dome at America’s Center
Channel: FOX
This will be the Brahmas’ second trip to face the Battlehawks on their home turf during the 2025 season. For the Brahmas, this will be a critical game for maintaining momentum heading into the post-season, and this game is always a hard-fought matchup. If the Brahmas want to avoid making three trips to Saint Louis in 2025, they need to win this matchup against the Battlehawks.
Week 10: Arlington Renegades @ San Antonio Brahmas
Sunday, June 1st, Noon EST, San Antonio, TX, The Alamodome
Channel: ABC
Regardless of each team’s record in this matchup, it will be a big-time matchup between teams fighting for position in the XFL conference. The Renegades bring a powerful running game and explosive RPOs off of the run game into the Alamodome. San Antonio will need to stop the Renegades’ run game and limit the Renegades’ quarterback in the passing game and in the running game.
