The 2024 San Antonio Brahmas have taken advantage of opportunities and chances to put themselves in a position to be the most surprising team during their first year in the UFL. With the success that the Brahmas have experienced this season, receiving league recognition is not unexpected. The UFL has released its list of All-UFL players, and Brahmas offensive guard Kohl Levao and inside linebacker Tavante Beckett were part of the group of players named to the 2024 All-UFL team.
During the 2024 season, Kohl Levao was a foundational player for an offensive line that was one of the most improved units in the league compared to their first season in the XFL during the 2023 XFL season. While the Brahmas offensive line has experienced several injuries, Levao continues to be a standout player each week. With the Brahmas seeing a dramatic improvement in run blocking and pass protection, Levao deserves any recognition he receives.
One of the key areas where the Brahmas have excelled in 2024 is on the defensive side. Tavante Beckett, the inside linebacker, has played a pivotal role in the team’s defensive success this season. His impressive stats from the first UFL season, including 72 total tackles, 9 tackles for loss, 1.5 quarterback sacks, one pass breakup, and two forced fumbles, are a testament to his significant contributions.
DL Trevon Coley is Filling the Gap
They continue to shuffle their roster as the San Antonio Brahmas prepare to face the Saint Louis Battlehawks in the XFL Conference championship game on Sunday, June 9th. Earlier this week, Brahmas defensive lineman Tariqious Tisdale announced that he retired from football, and Tisdale’s decision created a gap in the Brahmas roster and defensive line depth chart. According to a UFL press release, the Brahmas have filled that gap in their roster by signing defensive lineman Trevon Coley.
Defensive lineman Trevon Coley comes to the San Antonio Brahmas after being released by the Arlington Renegades during the 2024 season. Before coming to the UFL, Coley spent several seasons playing in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens (2016), the Cleveland Browns (2017-2019), the Indianapolis Colts (2020), the Arizona Cardinals (2020), the New York Jets (2020), the Tennessee Titans (2021, 2023), and the Chicago Bears (2022). During his NFL journey, he had several opportunities to make an impact on the field at the highest level.
During his tenure with the Cleveland Browns, Coley demonstrated his ability to perform under pressure, playing in 31 games and recording 80 tackles and 2.5 quarterback sacks. In the 2019 season, he played seven games for the Indianapolis Colts, contributing six tackles. In 2020, he played six games for the Arizona Cardinals, registering 14 tackles and one quarterback sack. Coley’s past performance in crucial games strongly indicates his potential to significantly impact the Brahmas defensive line, especially in the upcoming high-stakes match in Saint Louis this week.
The 6’1″, 310-pound native of Miami, Florida, played college football at Florida Atlantic University from 2012 until 2015. While playing at Florida Atlantic, Coley played in 48 games for the Owls. During his four seasons, Coley recorded 194 tackles, 13.5 quarterback sacks, and one interception, and he was named first-team All-Conference USA in 2015.
