In the UFL world, the NFL’s Super Bowl means that the start of a new season of Spring football is just around the corner. The San Antonio Brahmas are using these last few weeks before training camp to continue to load their roster with dynamic players who could make a good team a great team. The latest addition to the Brahmas 2025 roster is former Seattle Sea Dragons receiver Juwan Green.

A tweet by UFL insider James Larsen reported the announcement of the Brahmas acquisition of Green.

Wide Receiver Juwan Green comes to Brahma’s loaded receiver room after spending the 2023 NFL season with the Kansas City Chiefs. Green earned his opportunity with the Chiefs after having a great season with the Seattle Sea Dragons during the 2023 XFL season. While playing for the Sea Dragons, Green played in 10 games and caught 29 passes for 420 yards, resulting in six touchdowns. In 2021, Green also spent time with the Atlanta Falcons during the 2021 NFL season.

The 6’0″, 187-pound wide receiver played college football at the University of Albany from 2018 until 2019. During his time with the Great Danes, Green played in 23 games, recording 106 passes for 1,815 yards and 21 touchdowns. Prior to playing at the University of Albany, Green played two seasons at Lackawanna Junior College, where he caught 53 passes for 1,130 yards and scored 10 touchdowns.

Offensive Line coach Andre Gurode moving onto Colorado

The UFL prides itself on being a league of opportunity, allowing players to demonstrate their ability to compete on a big stage. Those opportunities are not limited to the UFL players; several coaches have also earned the opportunity to move on to bigger and better jobs. Brahmas offensive line coach Andre Gurode is one of the latest UFL coaches to move onto a bigger opportunity.

Several media sources, including a tweet by UFL Insider James Larsen, have reported that Gurode has accepted a position to move onto the University of Colorado and join the coaching staff of Deion Sanders.

Earlier this week, the UFL released the 2025 San Antonio Brahmas coaching staff as head coach Wade Phillips’s staff looks to help the Brahmas take the next step and win the UFL championship. It is unclear how Gurode’s decision to move on to Colorado affects the offensive line coach position on the Brahmas staff. If the Brahmas need to change their coaching staff, they must make those decisions expediently. Offensive coordinator AJ Smith runs an innovative offensive scheme and should be able to adjust to whatever changes the Brahmas make to their coaching staff.

I had actually written comments last year how I couldn’t understand how Juwan Green remained unsigned. Now only did he put good numbers in 2023, but he improved as the season went on. I thought he should have been on the Brahmas last season. He is better than many of the Brahmas wide receivers on last year’s squad. I think it is clear that not only is he a good player, but he does especially well in the spread offense. As far as Gurode he will be a huge loss. It’s no coincidence the Gurode was on both the Brahmas and Roughnecks and that both offensive lines were quite impressive. I don’t feel that is a coincidence. I wish him luck and I hope Juwan Green comes to play. I did watch him in Albany one day and the only reason the Great Danes were even in the game. Good luck to him.
