The United Football League (UFL) is gearing up for its second season in 2025 by expanding its front office operations slightly. The league recently posted job openings for positions, including a Staff Accountant and leadership roles for team business operations.
The Staff Accountant position, based in a flexible location with a preference for the East Coast, offers a salary range of $75,000 to $85,000 annually. This role will support the UFL’s day-to-day accounting operations, including the month-end close process, account reconciliation, and sales tax submission.
Key responsibilities for the Staff Accountant include:
- Closing books monthly
- Recording and analyzing financial transactions
- Preparing monthly spend reports
- Supporting internal and external audits
- Processing vendor payments
The UFL is also seeking to fill leadership positions for team business operations. A Vice President of Team Business Operations is needed for both the Birmingham Stallions and Michigan Panthers.
David Martin was named Senior Director of Team Business and Event Operations for the Birmingham Stallions back in March. Not sure if he is still with the league, maybe in a different capacity or this position is under him.
We reported back in January of a Senior Director Team Business & Event Operations for the Panthers. No word on if that role was every filled and by who.
Additionally, the Director of Sponsorship and Business Development position at the league level has been open for an extended period, highlighting the UFL’s ongoing efforts to expand its revenue streams and partnerships. Interesting this important position has yet to be filled.
These job postings suggest the UFL is investing in its financial management and business development capabilities as it prepares for the 2025 season. This is not the huge growth we saw with the XFL in 2019 but it is a good sign that both FOX and Redbird Capital Partners are putting some money into season 2. These hires are all about butts in the seats in 2025.
