
With training camp beginning several more UFL players are beginning to have their names called by NFL franchises for the 2025 training camp. As of Monday Afternoon (7/28), the UFL has seen 23 players earn NFL contracts as the league hopes to surpass the 75 players who earned NFL opportunities in 2024. So far 50 players have worked out NFL during this signing cycle.

Jaylon Allen received his 4th NFL workout in the NFL cycle. Allen worked out for the Panthers and Cardinals last week, and now the 49ers on Saturday. Josiah Bronson also worked out Colts on Saturday (7/26), a team he spent a month with last year on their practice squad.

After his workout with the Browns Taua, was officially signed by team on Saturday per Aaron Wilson. Taua becomes the 2nd UFL player Cleveland has signed this cycle, and 17th since 2022. Keni-H Lovely was also announced to be signing with the Cardinals after 3 NFL workouts. Lovely joins Stallions Steven Gilmore, who both look to compete for a roster spot with Starling Thomas V out for the season. Lovely worked out for the Cardinals on July 23rd. The Panthers will also be with R.J. Moten as well who is reportedly signing with the New England Patriots. Moten signed with the team after the 2025 NFL draft, only to be released and resigned for the 2026 season.

The Battlehawks had their first signing this cycle, with Nick Whiteside signing with the Detroit Lions. Whiteside previously worked out for the Panthers and returns back to Michigan where he played his college football at (D-II SVSU). The Lions remain one of the NFL’s most staunch supporters of Spring Football once again signing their 13th player since 2022. Jarveon Howard the Battlehawks 2nd string running back also worked out for the Steelers, his first workout this cycle.

Trey Dean worked out Vikings this Saturday (7/26) becoming the first Defensive Player for the team to receive NFL interest this year. Braylon Sanders received his 4th Workout of this cycle working out for the Carolina Panthers on Monday.

Steven Gilmore was released from his contract, and is reported to be signing with Arizona Cardinals after his visit on Saturday. The Stallions will also be without Deon Cain for his annual NFL appearance. Cain signed with the Bills once again on Monday 7/28, for the 3rd time in his career. Cain spent 34 days with the Bills on their Practice Squad in 2024, in addition to 2 weeks with the team in camp last year. Cain has earned opportunities with 3 NFL teams since joining the Stallions in 2023.

UFL Notes:
Domenique Davis of the 2022 USFL’s Houston Gamblers was released this past week. Davis has spent the last 3 seasons in the NFL, earning over 782K as a member of the Bengals and Steelers. Davis found some initial success in 2022 appearing in some regular season action, however, has not appeared in a game since. Davis now goes into free agency as a 29-year-old for the first time since the USFL. Former Arlington Renegades Defensive Lineman (2023), Bruce Hector worked out for the Colts. Hector has spent time with the Jets, and Texans earning 746k, while appearing in 8 games over the past two seasons. Hector was not signed after the 2024 season. NFL Veteran and AAF Hotshots alum Nick Folk is still “kicking” and worked out for the Jets on Monday. The Jets currently have a kicking battle going on between Harrison Mevis and Caden Davis.
