As the UFL goes into the 2nd week of its 2025 off-season, the league has already seen players receive over 20 workouts. This week Two more players have signed NFL contracts with Dresser Winn (QB Showboats), and Yasir Durant (OL Defenders) becoming the first players in their franchise to sign this UFL to NFL cycle. As of Friday Afternoon, the UFL has seen 12 players earn NFL contracts as the league hopes to surpass the 75 players who earned NFL opportunities in 2024.

Dresser Winn becomes the first Quarterback, and first Showboat to earn an NFL opportunity this signing cycle. Since 2022 16 QBs have signed with NFL teams, with only AJ McCarron appearing in a regular season game. Winn was a late signing due to Quinten Dormady’s release. He’d start 4 games for the Showboats throwing for over 800 yards and 3 TDs in his first season in the UFL.

The Defenders had their first signing in Yasir Durant joining the New England Patriots. Durant joins New England after spending Two seasons in D.C earning a championship and an All-UFL selection in 2025. Durant returns to the NFL after Four seasons (20-23), even spending a year in New England in 2021. Durant has appeared in 19 NFL games making 2 starts, earning $1,699,049 so far in his NFL career.

UFL Notes:
Former Houston Gamblers Long Snapper Tucker Addington has signed with the Steelers. He’ll battle 2020 XFL Alum, Arlington Renegades Long Snapper Christian Kuntz. The Battlehawks also saw their 2024 Kicker Andre Szymt return to the Cleveland Browns after being released earlier in the month. Szymt will compete with incumbent Dustin Hopkins for a spot on the 53-man roster.
