The 2025 UFL Season is finally here! After weeks of drama, coaching changes, and a labor dispute all 8 teams took to the field to open up the UFL’s second season. After doing my original rankings before the season, and then redoing the list via YouTube, it’s time to continue to analyze and adjust our rankings on a weekly basis. 13 of the 24 UFL Quarterbacks playing this weekend with Ten, taking significant passing attempts. This week we at UFL News Hub rank our UFL Quarterbacks, after the league’s second week of play.

Honorable Mention:

Alex McGough receives an Honorable Mention this week after appearing for One snap that resulted in a One Yard rush. McGough would be injured on his first and only play, resulting in him remaining on the sideline for the rest of the game. After coming in at the #5 position last week, McGough’s status is up in the air for Week 3.

Mike DiLiello appeared in his second professional game in the same situation as week one, The FCS QB came in near the goal line to run a RPO for the Defenders, with a carry for -2 yards.

Max Duggan appeared in the Battlehawks final two series of the game once St. Louis had the game put away. The former TCU QB threw his first pass attempt in a regular season game and sealed the victory with a 13-yard rush, before a series of kneel downs. Duggan finished 0-1 with 4 rushes for 13 yards.

10. Nolan Henderson Houston Roughnecks Week One Ranking #9

Stats: 0/3 0 Yds 0 TD 0 INT 1 Car 7 Yds

Henderson had two series to showcase his skillset this week and couldn’t make the most of the opportunity. Henderson couldn’t reignite the magic from last week he produced, as the team looks to be fully invested in Anthony Brown as QB1.

9. Danny Etling Michigan Panthers Week One Ranking #10

Stats: 3/4 8 Yds 0 TD 0 INT 0 Car 0 Yds

It appeared Etling saw a reduced number of reps in Week 2, and like most of the Panthers on the Offensive side of the ball looked rather anemic. Etling had an opportunity to put together a drive before the half, however an acrobatic catch by Marcus Simms killed that drive. To no one’s surprise it appears that Bryce Perkins will continue to receive the majority of the reps for Michigan going forward into the 2025 season.

8. Anthony Brown Houston Roughnecks Week One Ranking #11

Stats: 14/30 146 Yds 1 TD 1 INT 3 Car 20 Yds

Despite some late game heroics don’t let the score confuse you Brown is struggling. The Houston Roughnecks need a complete revamp of their team and while it’s unfair to blame this on Brown, he simply isn’t mobile enough to be their QB1. Brown seemed to bite off more than he can chew and despite unfair circumstances may see his NFL opportunities looking slimmer and slimmer.

7. Kellen Mond San Antonio Brahmas Week One Ranking #7

Stats: 13/37 129 Yds 0 TD 1 INT 3 Car 19 Yds

If nothing else, Mond is consistent coming in at the #7 Ranking for the 2nd consecutive week. The stout St. Louis front Seven did a great job of stifling Mond and the Offense as it seemed that Travis Feeney, and company were pressuring him consistently. I’m not yet ready to bail on Mond, but a loss to the Panthers this week to open up 0-3 (0-2 in conference) is not the best way to start a season whatsoever.

6. EJ Perry Memphis Showboats Week One Ranking #6

Stats: 18/25 205 Yds 0 TD 1 INT 4 Car 26 Yds 1 TD

Perry despite dealing with injury battled the Showboats to a potential upset against the D.C. Defenders. With Ken Whisenhunt at the helm, it was evident to see the confidence that Perry had when given the opportunity to play a full game. Memphis has the Houston Roughnecks at home which should be a great pick me up game for the Showboats and Perry to make a dent in the league.

5. Jordan Ta’amu D.C. Defenders Week One Ranking #3

Stats: 12/26 152 Yds 1 TD 0 INT 3 Car 18 Yds

It wasn’t pretty but Ta’amu got the job done as he has so many times. The Defenders QB several times “willed” his way to the plus territory finding a bit of rhythm towards the back half of the game. While it wasn’t a perfect game there is plenty to like in D.C. with Ta’amu and Head Coach Shannon Harris at the helm.

4. Matt Corral Birmingham Stallions Week One Ranking N/A

Stats: 18/29 198 Yds 1 TD 2 INT 3 Car 15 Yds

Corral came in cold and started off limping his way into half time. The one-time starter for Birmingham was able to will the Stallions to victory despite ill-advised throws and jitteriness, Birmingham was able to overcome Corral’s early ineffectiveness. Once settled in Corral went 9 for 9 at one point including a 52-yard strike to Deon Cain.

3. Bryce Perkins Michigan Panthers Week One Ranking #1

Stats: 12/23 132 Yds 1 TD 1 INT 3 Car 30 Yds 0 TD

Perkins got off to a slow start in Week 2 after earning our top spot in Week 1. The Panthers struggled mightily up front especially at Right Tackle were Chim Okorafor, getting tossed around by Ronnie Perkins consistently. Despite the exterior factors Perkins like Corral still put together enough positive plays to keep the game competitive with the Three-time Champions. Perkins may not be QB1 in the UFL for Week 2, however he still remains Michigan’s best option moving forward.

2. Manny Wilkins St. Louis Battlehawks Week One Ranking #2

Stats: 12/16 162 Yds 0 TD 0 INT 9 Car 58 Yds

While Wilkins didn’t wow on the stat sheet, it’s clear that there was progression in his desicion making and the ability to push the ball down the field. Coupled with his ability to keep defenses honest with his legs, Manny Wilkins has established himself in the top echelon of QBs through the first Two weeks of the season.

1. Luis Perez Arlington Renegades Week One Ranking #4

Stats: 19/27 211 1 TD 0 INT 1 Car -1 Yds

Perez once again found a way to effectively get the job done through the air, while the run game cooled off for Arlington in Week Two. Going over 200 yards, in addition to finding a connection with Isaiah Winstead, Perez was easily the best the passer this week as he eclipsed 8,000 career passing yards in the regular season with his second straight victory.

200 yard passing games seem to be the UFL benchmark.

I think you are correct. You either have decent run numbers or pass numbers not both. With the constant running of the UFL clock there are less plays than a NFL game. Also, they push field position to try to stay away from low scoring games so there isn’t usually as much field to go. The last two minutes help with the speed up rules, but with it being early in the season and most teams having new quarterbacks they have yet to excel at the two minute drive.
Much like when they dress the 3rd quarterback, I would like for the UFL to start dressing an extra defender, whether a linemen or cornerback/safety. The reason for this is that defenders already become tired with the chase and the defense doesn’t always have enough timeouts to rest the defense. They are either using them for the 35 second clock or saving them for time management. With a fully healthy contingent of defenders they can become tired on a long drive. When a trailing team then uses the 4 and 12 the team being wasted is likely to be an easy prey for the 4th & 12 and the long drive that will ensue. The extra body would make it to help in case of an injury, which would really deplete the team. Another option might be to put the defender on the actually active roster so they can be used. IF this were the case maybe the league can use this toward helping meet the players requirements for salary while helping the league at the same time.
