The 2025 UFL Season is finally here! After weeks of drama, coaching changes, and a labor dispute all 8 teams took to the field to open up the UFL’s second season. After doing my original rankings before the season, and then redoing the list via YouTube, it’s time to continue to analyze and adjust our rankings on a weekly basis. 14 of the 24 UFL Quarterbacks playing this weekend with Eleven, taking significant passing attempts. This week we at UFL News Hub rank our UFL Quarterbacks, after the league’s first week of play.
Honorable Mention:
Max Duggan made his professional debut for St. Louis enroute to their 31-6 victory over the Houston Roughnecks. Duggan played in two series ripping off a 15-yard rush and a 1-pt conversion. Duggan finished the day with 3 carries for 12 yards in week 1.
Holton Ahlers of the Arlington Renegades also deserves an Honorable Mention for Week One! Even though he didn’t record a stat, the ECU QB was extremely effective and efficient for his 2025 debut, as the Renegades unveiled their T-Formation with Ahlers at the command. The Renegades went 3 for 3, with Ahlers handing off to Spring Football Veteran De’Veon Smith enroute to their 33 to 9 victory.
Mike DiLiello also made his professional debut after being a late signing in 2024. The FCS QB came in near the goal line to run a RPO for the Defenders. While D.C. didn’t score DiLiello was applauded by Coach Harris as a Tim Tebow Esque player.
11. Anthony Brown Houston Roughnecks: Preseason Ranking #9
Stats: 5/11 21 Yds 0 TD 2 INT 1 Car 20 Yds
Brown’s UFL debut and 1st start since 2022 did not go as expected for many. The Oregon alum had no shot at success looking uncomfortable and underprepared in Eric Price’s offense. With no end in sight and no real plan moving forward Brown and Roughnecks look to just be along for the ride until change is implemented in Houston.
10. Danny Etling Michigan Panthers Preseason Ranking #13
Stats: 4/6 30 Yds 0 TD 0 INT 2 Car 15 Yds
While given about the same amount of opportunities, Etling was dealt with several short fields and a heavier does of the run game when at the control of the Michigan Offense. Etling proved to be extremely competent as a QB 1.5 for Michigan however, it’s clear that the Panthers do run smoother with Perkins at the helm.
9. Nolan Henderson Houston Roughnecks: Preseason Ranking #10
Stats: 7/18 68 Yds 1 TD 0 INT 4 Car 54 Yds
In a poor display of effort for the Roughnecks, Henderson may have been the team’s only bright spot. Henderson with his legs was able to make Houston semi competent and competitive on Offense rushing for 54 yards in addition to drawing 2 penalties for 1st downs. While Henderson isn’t the savior in Houston his athletic ability should make the Roughnecks at least watchable.
8. Troy Williams Memphis Showboats Preseason Ranking #11
Stats: 8/11 104 Yds 0 TD 1 INT 0 Car 0 Yds
That last second interception knocked Williams down in my opinion. Williams to me looked like the less comfortable QB in Memphis and had trouble getting comfortable. With an Offensive Line that still needs to develop some cohesiveness, Williams didn’t utilize his legs like he has in the past, which may have swung the meter to a higher rating.
7. Kellen Mond San Antonio Brahmas: Preseason Ranking #7
Stats: 17/31 159 Yds 0 TD 0 INT 3 Car 19 Yds
It may have been a rough patch for Mond in his first live action since 2023, but there are some decent takeaways. His connection with Jacob Harris, and another week of reps could leave the jury out for Mond to see if he can settle down.
6. EJ Perry Memphis Showboats Preseason Ranking #5
Stats: 10/17 93 Yds 1 TD 1 INT 3 Car 7 Yds
Perry got off to a slow start before finally settling in during the last quarter of the game. Perry was able to gain some continuity while being extremely mobile in the pocket. A couple bad drops, and a couple series of miscommunication could lead to Perry putting together a season that ranks him a bit higher on this list.
5. Alex McGough Birmingham Stallions Preseason Ranking #1
Stats: 10/23 89 Yds 1 TD 1 INT 8 Car 84 Yds
Are the Stallions cooked? Well, I don’t think so. What I do think is that Alex McGough may lead the league in rushing if the Offensive Line can’t get it together. While McGough did make some questionable throws there is no doubt his Offensive Tackles didn’t give him much help. Despite his woes through the air, he still managed 84 rushing yards on the ground, with several rushes being called back due to penalties.
4. Luis Perez Arlington Renegades Preseason Ranking #2
Stats: 20/25 164 0 TD 1 INT 2 Car 18 Yds
While it wasn’t clean by any means, Perez put together another efficient start for the Renegades. Perez managed the game making one mistake but also continuing to find continuity with some of his favorite targets.
3. Jordan Ta’amu D.C. Defenders Preseason Ranking #3
Stats: 17/37 211 Yds 1 TD 1 INT 2 Car -1 Yd
It wasn’t pretty but Ta’amu got the job done as he has so many times. The Defenders QB several times “willed” his way to the plus territory finding a bit of rhythm towards the back half of the game. While it wasn’t a perfect game there is plenty to like in D.C. with Ta’amu and Head Coach Shannon Harris at the helm.
2. Manny Wilkins St. Louis Battlehawks: Preseason Ranking #16
Stats: 17/22 189 Yds 0 TD 0 INT 8 Car 43 Yds 2 TD
It’s been almost 3 years in the making, but the Battlehawks are finally Wilkins’ team. While it wasn’t perfect Wilkins played within the system, effectively managing the game and relaying on his legs to get him out of perilous situations. While I’m not if it’s sustainable against the UFL’s more accomplished Defenses, Wilkins has definitely proved he’s extremely capable as the Battlehawks Quarterback.
1. Bryce Perkins Michigan Panthers Preseason Ranking #4
Stats: 16/19 163 Yds 1 TD 0 INT 6 Car 14 Yds 1 TD
Perkins got off to a hot start showing insane athletic ability enroute to his first TD of the season. Matched up with increased pocket presence, and another year in the scheme Perkins is doing a decent job of reading through his progressions while leading Michigan to their first victory of the season. It appears Perkins has amassed a stronger skillset in his passing attack as well, utilizing the RPO scheme which led to his first passing TD of the year.
