
When the USFL announced that they were having a college draft in February of 2023, a lot of fans and media were extremely surprised, confused, and hopeful for the new wave of players that could be suiting up for the 2023 season and beyond. As we look at the USFL Draft over 2 Years removed lets take a look at the 5th round of USFL Draft picks from the 2023 Draft.
32nd Overall Michigan Panthers Linebacker DaShaun White
White would join the Panthers May 18th of 2023 after the Rookie Mini-Camp cycle. White would spend 2023 and 2024 totaling 20 tackles in 11 games for the Panthers. White earned NFL contracts with the Bills (2023), Raiders (2024), and 49ers (2024), appearing in one NFL game for the 49ers in 2024 earning approx. $269,167 in 2024. White was resigned by San Franciso however, was released on May 28th.

33rd Overall Pittsburgh Maulers Defensive Lineman Isaiah Land
Land was a UDFA by the Cowboys in 2023 spending training camp with Dallas before being released. Land would be claimed off waivers by the Indianapolis Colts where he has spent the last two years appearing in 17 games over the 2023-24 season.
34th Overall Houston Gamblers Defensive Lineman Jeffrey Johnson
After clogging up running holes with the Oklahoma Sooners, defensive tackle Jeffrey Johnson found his way to the USFL, playing under current Houston Roughnecks head coach C.J. Johnson for the then-Houston Gamblers. While he saw limited time in 2023, Jeffery Johnson became a rotational player for the Roughnecks this season with eight tackles and one tackle for loss in six games. He totaled 12 tackles over two seasons, and was recently released by the B.C. Lions on May 11th.
35th Overall Memphis Showboats Tight End Michael Ezeike
Ezeike bounced around a bit since coming out of UCLA in 2023. The Showboats 5th round draft pick had a stint with the Chargers before signing with the Showboats in October of 2023. Ezeike would be waived by Memphis during their first cycle of cuts, only to find his way to the CFL’s Hamilton Tiger Cats. Ezeike would earn another opportunity in the NFL spending 8 days in training camp with the Seahawks finding himself waived once more.
36th Overall New Orleans Breakers Linebacker Isaiah Moore
Moore spent 2023 with the Kansas City Chiefs battling back from a knee injury to land on their practice squad. Moore would sign with the Birmingham Stallions in late 2024, only to retire in January 2025 to begin his coaching career at NC State.
37th Overall Philadelphia Stars Offensive Lineman Earl Bostick Jr.
Bostick came out of Kansas in 2023 earning a UDFA with the Cowboys. He’d spend 2023 with Dallas on their Practice Squad, and in 2024 was placed on injured reserve ending his season in August. Bostick is a free agent now after being released on April 30th. He’s earned $906,000 in his NFL Career per spotrac.
38th Overall Birmingham Stallions Linebacker Zeke Vandenburgh
Vandenburgh came out of FCS Illinois State in 2023 earning a UDFA with the Miami Dolphins. The Buck Buchanan Award winner had his 2023 cut short in July being placed on injured reserve. Vandenburgh would released by Miami in 2024 during training camp due to injury, only to have rights transferred to the Showboats signing with them in January of 2025. Vandenburgh would play in 8 games for Memphis in 2025 totaling 39 tackles in Jarren Horton’s Defense.
39st Overall New Jersey Generals Defensive Back De’Jahn Warren
Warren spent time with the Chicago Bears during their rookie minicamp before signing with the Generals in June of 2023. Warren appeared in one game for New Jersey recording no statistics, and ultimately went unselected during the UFL dispersal draft. Warren continued his football career in 2024 spending time with the Mass Pirates of the IFL. Warren would have another stint with the Jacksonville Sharks in 2025 however was released in late February prior to the season.
