Going into the new year while there was plenty of uncertainty regarding the teams, dispersal drafts, and much more the status of the Battlehawks seemed to never be in question. When December 31st and January came around as Dany Garcia and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made their appearances fans of the league rejoiced as “Kaw remains the Law” with Coach Anthony Becht leading the charge for 2024.
Coach Becht returns to his second season as a Head Coach for St. Louis. The former NFL 1st Round Pick led St. Louis to a 7-3 record narrowly missing the playoffs due to controversial tie-breaker. St. Louis still achieved a high level of success not only with attendance averaging over 30,000 fans a game along with seeing 16 of their players earn NFL opportunities under Becht’s leadership.
Becht goes into 2024 with a tall task as the status of QB A.J. McCarron remains uncertain as St. Louis goes into the UFL’s dispersal draft beginning January 5th, and concluding on January 15th. The Battlehawks have made some huge moves in free agency acquiring Max Borghi, and 2023 XFL Defensive Player of the Year Pita Taumopeneu.
With the season set to kick off on March 30th, Coach Becht has begun making his tour on St. Louis talk show’s confirming changes to his coaching staff for 2024, along with rule changes for the upcoming year. Becht will be without Tory Woodbury his Special Teams Coach, along with at least one other position coach. Overall, the city of St. Louis has embraced Coach Becht, as the NFL veteran (and former St. Louis Ram), has proven to a city scorned by Kroenke and COVID, that this is a football city where KaKaw will always be the law.
