Anthony Becht

Head Coach

Orlando Storm

Anthony Becht is the head coach of the Orlando Storm, bringing to one of the UFL's three new 2026 franchises one of the deepest spring-football résumés of any coach in the league. A first-round pick (27th overall) of the New York Jets out of West Virginia in 2000, Becht played 11 NFL seasons as a tight end with the Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, St. Louis Rams, Arizona Cardinals, and Kansas City Chiefs.

After his playing career he transitioned into coaching, beginning as the tight ends coach of the San Diego Fleet in the 2019 Alliance of American Football season before taking over as head coach of the St. Louis Battlehawks from 2023 through 2025 — a stretch in which St. Louis became one of the most popular and competitive teams of the modern spring-football era. Alongside his coaching work, Becht has been a fixture as a college football analyst for ESPN and has served as a radio color commentator for the New York Jets.

Taking over the expansion Storm for their inaugural 2026 season, Becht gives Central Florida a head coach with NFL playing experience and three full seasons of proven UFL head-coaching credibility.
