Chris Redman is the head coach of the Louisville Kings, returning to the city where he first became a household name. A Louisville native who starred at Male High School, Redman went on to one of the most decorated careers in University of Louisville football history, winning the Sammy Baugh Trophy as the nation's top college passer in 1999 and rewriting much of the Cardinals' passing record book.
Selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the third round of the 2000 NFL Draft, Redman spent parts of eight seasons in the NFL with Baltimore and the Atlanta Falcons, serving as a dependable veteran presence in the quarterback room and appearing in starts across his Atlanta tenure before settling into a longtime backup role.
As head coach of one of the UFL's new 2026 franchises in his hometown, Redman gives the Kings a homegrown leader whose name already carries weight in Louisville football — and whose quarterback background should accelerate the development of whoever lines up under center for the expansion club's inaugural season.
