Betting Line: Saint Louis Battlehawks (+3), Orlando Storm (-3), O/U 45.5 points

Week 5 of the 2026 UFL season features a blast from the past for Orlando Storm head coach Anthony Becht as the Storm hosts Becht's former team, the Saint Louis Battlehawks. Coming into Week 5, the Storm are the only remaining undefeated team with a 4-0 record after shutting out the Birmingham Stallions last week. The Battlehawks enter Week 5 with a 2-2 record, mirroring the inconsistency this team has shown under new head coach Ricky Proehl.

The Orlando Storm have found success week after week this season by playing efficient football on offense and defense. Offensively, the Storm are averaging 23.7 points/game and are running the ball for just over 100 yards/game. In addition, Orlando quarterback Jack Plummer has been impressive while producing 672 passing yards and 6 touchdowns. Defensively, the Storm ranked first in the UFL during the 2026 season, allowing only 17.3 points/game.

The Saint Louis Battlehawks have struggled to play consistent football this season. Instability at quarterback has been apparent, with the team starting Brandon Silvers, then Harrison Frost, and most recently acquiring Luis Perez via trade with the Dallas Renegades. Both Silvers and Frost have struggled to handle pressure from opposing defenses, resulting in numerous turnovers. On the other hand, the Battlehawks have enjoyed impressive performances from wide receiver Hakeem Butler. His contributions have kept them in close games. Defensively, the Battlehawks can play sound football. However, they also tend to break down, leading to explosive plays.

Orlando Storm Key to Victory #1: Win with Defense First

While the Orlando Storm's offense has played consistently and efficiently, the Storm's defense has been the most consistent unit. Last week, the Storm used its solid defensive game plan to secure the first shutout victory of the 2026 season in Birmingham. On the other hand, the Battlehawks have struggled to maintain consistent performances on offense or defense, which has led to Saint Louis' streaky performances. Where the Battlehawks have struggled most is producing in the passing game under pressure from the opposing defense. For Orlando to capitalize on these struggles, the Storm need to play tight coverage on early downs and force the Battlehawks quarterbacks to hold the ball, disrupting the timing of the Battlehawks offense and preventing explosive plays. If the Storm's defense can force Saint Louis into consistently 3rd-and-long situations, Orlando will have a significant edge over the Battlehawks.

Orlando Storm Key to Victory #2: Control the Game Tempo with Balanced Offense

On the other side of the ball, the Orlando Storm need to keep playing efficient football and grind out successful offensive drives. The Storm have shown they can win both low-scoring defensive battles and high-scoring duels. For the Storm, the most important accomplishment of the Orlando offense has been avoiding critical errors and setting themselves up for failure. The Battlehawks' defense has allowed 28+ points twice this season, and Saint Louis has struggled against balanced offensive attacks. If the Storm can use their balanced attack to string together first downs and finish drives with touchdowns, the Battlehawks will be forced to play their best game of the season so far to avoid dropping below a .500 record. It will be critical for the Storm to demonstrate early-down efficiency to avoid 3rd-and-long situations, and they must control the tempo of the game to keep the Battlehawks defense guessing.

Orlando Storm Key to Victory #3: Protect the Football

Ball security will be the primary factor that determines which team wins this game. When the Battlehawks are protecting the ball, they tend to play well and put up points, but too many times this season, good performances have fallen apart due to turnovers and stalled drives. The Battlehawks offense will need to avoid making risky throws while still moving the ball consistently. It will be critical for the Saint Louis offense to establish its running game early and continue to lean on it throughout the game. The Storm offense has consistently moved the ball without risking the ball to put points on the scoreboard. Orlando will need to continue that trend if they are going to extend their winning streak to five. To win this game, the Storm cannot get caught up in personal battles; they must keep their running game going and set Jack Plummer up for success.

Orlando Storm Key to Victory #4: Exploit Saint Louis' Defensive Inconsistency

Recently, the Battlehawks' defense has allowed 30 points to the Birmingham Stallions and 28 points to the DC Defenders. Orlando needs to come out ready to attack the Battlehawks in the middle of the field, where they have struggled to play consistent defense. The Storm also needs to use misdirection and play-action to exploit the Battlehawks' tendency to over-pursue. As long as the Storm do not play uncharacteristic football, they should be in a great position to grind out another home win. For Anthony Becht, getting a win against the Battlehawks will likely be a point of emphasis, but it is important that Becht and the Storm do not get caught up in personal battles. In contrast, the Storm need to continue playing clean football and expose the Battlehawks' inconsistency on both sides of the ball.

Game Prediction: Orlando Storm 24, Saint Louis Battlehawks 19
