After earning the UFL's assistant coach of the year honors, Battlehawks defensive coordinator, Corey Chamblin is set to join Kenny Dillingham at Arizona State University for the foreseeable future. Chamblin joins' Dilligham's staff after leading the Battlehawks to one of the UFL's most dynamic defenses will join the Sun Devils as a Senior Offensive Analyst.
Chamblin has been a key figure in alternative football leagues all the way back to NFL Europe. After a six-year career in the NFL, Chamblin started his coaching journey with the Frankfurt Galaxy, in 2006 earning a "World Bowl" Championship. Chamblin would then have an 11-year career as a coach in the CFL earning three Grey Cup championships as a defensive coach, including a 2013 Grey Cup victory as Head Coach of the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
In 2022, Chamblin rejoined the professional coaching ranks joining the USFL's Birmingham Stallions enroute to another championship ring. Since then he's served with the San Antonion Brahmas (XFL 2023), Birmingham Stallions (UFL 24-25), and most recently the Battlehawks (2026).
The Battlehawks defensive coordinator will now try his hand at the other side of the football for the first time in his career, and only his second time in the college ranks. Chamblin is the most recent UFL coach to "double-dip" in 2026, with Stallions Defensive Coordinator Kevin Sherrer joining LSU's staff. It is unknown at this time if Chamblin will return to the UFL in 2027.
