For a couple minutes in the 3rd quarter it looked like everything was coming together. The Battlehawks were pushing the ball vertically down the field and just scored on a Hakeem Butler seam route. While there was plenty of work to be done it the Battlehawks were in a pretty decent position to mount a comeback behind backup Quarterback Brandon Silvers.
And then on the extra point attempt, it was over. After being driven into the ground by All-UFL Defensive Lineman Joe Wallace, Silvers was seen heading to the blue tent and then being carted to the locker room. Silvers’ day was done after two series leading to a 6/10 81-yard performance with a Touchdown. Silvers took to twitter to update fans noting that he fractured his right scapula with a 6-8 week recovery period.
Prior to Sunday, Silvers appeared in Two games for the Battlehawks this season after including earning a win in his lone start this season in week 10 vs the Defenders. Silvers went 13/18 this season for 205 yards and 1 TD for the Battlehawks. A veteran of spring football since 2019’s AAF Silvers has thrown for 3779 yards, and 33 TDs over 6 seasons in spring football. Silvers is in his second season with the Battlehawks after serving as a reserve QB in 2024.
It’s unknown if Silvers will return in 2026 with St. Louis. The Battlehawks currently roster Manny Wilkins (IR), Chevan Cordeiro (2024 1st Round Pick), and Max Duggan (5-0 regular season record). The Battlehawks could opt to return Silvers if they are looking for a veteran with experience who can effectively manage their system if he chooses to return. Regardless, Silvers has been a major asset for the league, and the Battlehawks as an ambassador for spring football.

I hope they don’t plan to run it back with the same group in 2026. I am not saying that any of these guys cannot do the job in the right set of circumstances, but to come to camp with the same group of guys would be limiting. Finding the right fit at quarterback is almost like trying to find your significant other. It would be like looking for the right person in all the world, but only looking in one place.
It doesn’t mean you can’t find the right one, because to be honest people are people and they can always improve and choose to live a good life, but limiting yourself to ONLY a specific group can really limit future happiness and can even ultimately end in failure. Now if you have seen something from someone that has you in love with them that you want to go down that road. Do so, but know that your future is at risk too and if those people aren’t really good for you, but you continue to love only that one person, sometimes you lose other friends and family that treat you well.
