Battlehawks to release Quarterback Harrison Frost, set to re-join CFL's Hamilton Tiger-Cats

As the UFL remains in a lull until NFL training camp begins, the Canadian Football League is in full swing going into week six of competition. With several injuries “up north”, one UFL quarterback is reported to begin the process of heading back to “the great white north”.

Initially reported by James Larsen of PFN, Harrison Frost of the St. Louis Battlehawks is set to rejoin the Hamilton Ti-Cats, the team he spent two seasons with prior to his time in the UFL. The report has been confirmed by John Murphy, former assistant general manager of the Toronto Argonauts, along with 3Down Nation’s John Hodge, who spoke with Frost’s agent.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are in negotiations to bring back American quarterback Harrison Frost, his agent confirmed to 3DownNation on Wednesday. James Larsen was first to report the news.

Frost originally came into professional football out of the University of West Georgia, joining the XFL’s Seattle Sea Dragons in 2023. He’d join the Hamilton T-Cats in 2024, seeing limited action along with spending the 2025 season with the team. Frost was eventually signed to an extension with the team in early 2026, however opted for his release joining the Battlehawks who had recently released Michael Pratt.

Frost would earn his first extended opportunities in pro football with St. Louis, after taking over for spring football veteran Brandon Silvers. Frost completed 53% of his passes for 719 yards to go along with seven touchdowns and six interceptions. He also added 26 yards on 16 carries for 1 TD, enroute to a 2-1 record as the Battlehawks starter, ultimately getting replaced by Luis Perez.

With the recent injury to Bo Levi Mitchell, the Ti-Cats have announced that former NFL veteran Jake Dolegala will be the starter moving forward. The team also signed CFL veteran Jarrett Doege as a replacement as well, with Canadian Tre Ford on the roster.

While Frost’s signing is official, per 3Down Nation the team is currently in negotiations with Frost’s agent. The Battlehawks will currently roster two quarterbacks on their roster with Brandon Silvers and Luis Perez still currently under contract. Both veteran quarterbacks have yet to announce their future plans in regard to the 2027 season.
